The Mind Governed By The Flesh Is Death
The Spirit Is Our Guarantee
ROMANS 8:5-6
“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Jesus separates people into two categories; those who are dominated by the flesh, and those who commit their lives to Jesus and submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Having said yes to life in Christ, Jesus said, ““If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
John 14:15-18 NKJV
Once tasted life in Christ, we want more, because Christ’ way brings joy, contentment, and peace; God’s peace that surpasses all understanding, and will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (PHILIPPIANS 4:7).
My brethren, their is no greater riches than peace of mind, no amount of money can match it, indeed money has a habit of steeling it; neither your status nor possessions can exceed what Christ has for you; they are all temporary. “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?”
Mark 8:36 NKJV
God’s peace is eternal, and with it, whatever situation you are facing, you are more than a multi-millionaire.
My beloved, nothing compares to the gift of life God has for us; He loves us and is faithful to those who believe on Him (ROMANS 10:8-13).
“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.””
Revelation 21:4 NKJV
My beloved, if you are to “believe on Jesus”, you need to know Him. The only way to know anyone is through relationship.
Therefore, go into your room, shut the door and start a conversation. Surely it makes sense to know the judge who is coming to decide your eternal future.
He came into this world that you may have life, and that you have abundantly (JOHN 10:10).
“Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee (2 CORINTHIANS 1:21-22). But however, “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
Romans 8:7-11 NKJV
Jesus has made a way for you and the truth is, He is the only way to our Father in heaven (JOHN 14:6).
But we still have choices; to live our daily lives for Christ by the leading of the Spirit, or to live for self by the leading of the flesh. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
To live for Christ is to present your bodies a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God, for this is your reasonable service; surely the least one can do. And don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (ROMANS 12:1-2).
My beloved, Jesus set us free; not free to continue in sin, but free to live in the righteousness of Christ. He paid a very high price for that you may live (1 CORINTHIANS 7:23; COLOSSIANS 1:14).
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
