PHILIPPIANS 2:5-8
“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
”Philippians 2:5-8 NKJV

Jesus, though He was God, came into this world as a human being, naming Himself Jesus, Son of God, and although He was God, He made Himself of no reputation, but lived His life as a slave.
He always was and is fully God in human form.
For “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”
John 1:1, 3-5 NKJV
Furthermore, He never sinned, yet, humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, paying the debt of sin that we earned, so that we might live.
While sin justified our death, the blood of Jesus justifies our new life in Christ.
All we need to do is apply His blood to our lives by faith and we are saved.
This is an act of kindness that goes far beyond our human understanding, an act of selfless unconditional love. “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
John 15:13 NKJV
My beloved, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:35-39 NKJV
Paul tells us, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” But since our human nature is to live for ourselves, how do we take on such a transformation?
Paul said, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:1-2 NKJV
The first step, is to submit to God, make Him your Lord and Saviour, presenting your body a living sacrifice; that is to let go of all the lust of the flesh and selfish ambitions and live for Christ.
And since Christ died for you, it is your reasonable service to live for Him, presenting your body a living sacrifice , holy and acceptable to Him.
Do not be conformed to this world; that is to say, do not involve in the sinful systems and practices of the world, but rather step out and cooperate with God, and live your life according to the leading of the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to renew your mind, that you are transformed, becoming Christ like in the way we think,. It is then when we shall come to understand and prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (ROMANS 12:1-2).
Many complain they do know their calling. But if one lives out these basic steps, the process of transformation will start and come to completion in God’s perfect timing, and he or she will come to prove what is that good and acceptable, and the perfect will of God in their lives.
Meanwhile, as you grow in understanding, reach out and share the Good News of the treasure you found in Christ; shine for Him by the way you live and draw the people to Him. Love them with the selfless, unconditional love of Christ, helping the needy by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said, “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.”
Matthew 10:5-10 NKJV
As you walk in your calling, God will provide all your needs, for a worker is worthy of his food.
God Himself gives us the desire to do what pleases Him, and the power to it (PHILIPPIANS 2:13), including any provision that is needed.
“”Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out. And when you go into a household, greet it. If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”
Matthew 10:11-15 NKJV
Having said that, we must remember what Jesus told us regarding His command of love.
““You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”
Matthew 5:43-45 NKJV
Our calling is to reach out to the lost sheep of Israel; therefore, lovingly let those go who don’t want to know.
“”Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.”
Matthew 7:6 NKJV
If they refuse the blessing, walk away shaking the dust of your feet.
My beloved, be united, joyful, and in constant prayer, working together within the five fold ministry of Christ (EPHESIANS 4:11-15), “that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”
Ephesians 4:14-16 NKJV
Paul said “I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life. Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:2-7 NKJV
Paul is, just as he was back in his day, urging you to have the mind of Christ and be a true and helpful companion to your fellow believers, those who names are written in the book of life.
My beloved, Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of Lords (1 TIMOTHY 6:15; REVELATION 17:24; REVELATION 19:;6), took the humble position of a slave, and He is our example to follow.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
