JAMES 5:16
“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

By sending His only begotten Son to die on a cross, God has made forgiveness possible for all people however great their sin, not just their past sins, but their future sins too.
Jesus made it possible for all to go directly to God for forgiveness in repentance.
But however, Peter tells us, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
I Peter 5:8 NKJV
The devil misses nothing, he knows how embarrassing our past can be and is very happy to hold it over us. He is the accuser (REVELATION 12:10).
If you have something to hide, and we’ve all had something in the closet, the devil will use it to control and destroy you.
Furthermore, un dealt with sin separates us from God, and gives access to demons and unclean spirits to reside within one’s body to influence one’s very soul, our mind, will and emotions.
Once in, they will have influence over our decisions, reactions, and behaviour, and even over what we believe.
My beloved, confessing our sins to God brings salvation, but confession to one another breaks the devil’s hold and results in peace of mind.
He cannot hold over you confessed sin.
Yes, it may be uncomfortable for a short while, but that will soon pass. God is not only faithful to forgive, but He washes the shame away (ZEPHANIAH 3:19; ROMANS10:11; 1 PETER 2:6).
We believers have authority over the demons and unclean spirits to cast them out (LUKE 10:17), but not in our own power or abilities, but through Christ.
Sin my beloved, brings us into agreement with the devil, separating us from God and opens doors that that let the demonic in.
When one is saved he receives the gift of the Holy Spirit, “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”
Ephesians 1:13-14 NKJV
The Holy Spirit joins our spirit and shall never leave (JOHN 14:15-18). For The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”
Romans 8:16-17 NKJV
When a believer slips back into sin, the Holy Spirit retreats from our flesh and remains silently within our spirit. It will feel like He has left us, like we are in the wilderness, but He never leaves us.
From within our spirit, He continues working to convict us unto repentance and brings change.
Confession of both past and present sins is paramount to freedom, for we fall short of the glory.
We are all sinners and not only have a past, but will make mistakes in the future.
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”
I John 1:8-10 NKJV
But through Christ, “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.”
I Peter 2:24-25 NKJV
Jesus described deliverance as healing (MATHEW 15:26-28).
For my beloved, “He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:3-5 NKJV
Isaiah Prophesied to the devout believers of today, “Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs. “For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering; I will direct their work in truth, And will make with them an everlasting covenant. Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles, And their offspring among the people. All who see them shall acknowledge them, That they are the posterity whom the Lord has blessed.” I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the earth brings forth its bud, As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.”
Isaiah 61:7-11 NKJV
My beloved, we can stand on these promises, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”
II Corinthians 1:20-22 NKJV
I tell you the truth, these days are upon us, revival is in motion because the glory of God is manifesting throughout the world.
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
James 4:7-10 NKJV
My beloved, Jesus time has come, and new wine skins are in place to receive the new wine, just as in the first miracle, and is being poured; He saved the best until last (JOHN 2:1-11).
With new wine, their shall be new powers and new freedoms.
You, my beloved, are the new wine skins, and Jesus blood is the new wine that shall bring the new powers and freedoms we have in Christ.
But we must believe to receive, and cannot serve two masters (MATHEW 6:24).
It doesn’t work to have one foot in God’s kingdom and the other in the world.
Jesus said, ““Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
John 14:12-14 NKJV
My beloved, the most powerful resource we have is communion with God through prayer.
The results are often far greater than we could of even imagined.
Many people use prayer as a last resort when all else has failed. But the truth is, God’s power and abilities are infinitely greater than ours, so surely it makes sense to rely on Him from the beginning of every day and, every project, and in every aspect of our lives, especially knowing that God Himself encourages us to do just that, because, “The effective fervent, prayer of a righteous man avails much.
Again I tell you, ““Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
