It is said that this Psalm was sung on the first day of each week in the Temple services. Verses 1-6 tell who was worthy to join in this worship or may even stand in this Holy place (v3). “He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully.”
Psalms 24:4 NKJV
Today, because Jesus cleansed us with His own blood, despite our sinful past, all can turn to God in repentance and stand in His presence.
God gave us humans dominion over all the creatures of the earth, in deed over all the earth (GENESIS 1:26), but however, the earth and all that dwell upon it is the Lord’s. Therefore, all of us are like stewards or caretakers of the earth and should be committed to managing all earths resources and taking good care of it.
It is encouraging that those with cleansed hearts-those who believe in Christ and have turned to God in repentance; “He shall receive blessing from the LORD, And righteousness from the God of his salvation (v5).”
So open the gates to Your heart: “Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah”
Psalms 24:7-10 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
