Families establish their homes from the inside, and watchman police our cities. But without God both of these activities are futile.
A family without God cannot experience the spiritual bonding and love that God brings into relationships.
We can make our home beautiful inside and out, but only when filled with the love of God and His presence, can it truly become home.
Only God can bring true unity and peace into the family home.
Whether a nation, a city, a large family or one lives by him or herself, with God in the centre, we are never left alone to face life challenges.
But for good change to come, we must walk in the leading of the Holy Spirit and remain obedient to the Lord’s instructions.
We cannot overcome the issues in this world in our own understanding or strength.
Whether as husband leading his family through every day life, or a Pastor leading his church, or a world leader leading the nations, we need the leadership of Christ Jesus; indeed the government shall stand upon His shoulders (ISAIAH 9:6-7).
As we are all witnessing today, a city without God will most certainly crumble because of evil corruption within. The watchman stays awake in vain.
The same can be said for the church that has been run like businesss; however much effort is put into assembly, equipment, and man pleasing schemes, without God, it will profit us nothing.
But today, the man pleasing church of which much was established by the likes of the Pharisees, is facing its end, for Christ is dismantling the old, and rebuilding the new.
“Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables. And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!” Then His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.” So the Jews answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?””
John 2:13-18 NKJV
Like back in those days, the church has been run like businesses, the worship is often little more than entertainment and the leaders goals are to profit financially from its produce.
They may not realise it, but this is prostitution of the body of Christ.
Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.””
John 2:19 NKJV
The old church is finished, the wine has been depleted as is its power.
It is time to submit to God’s will and accept the new, for Jesus time is now (JOHN 2:1-11).
But before one can be filled with the new wine, one must go through the process of preparation.
Jesus said, “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one; otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved. And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.’ ””
Luke 5:36-39 NKJV
My beloved, much of the church is trying to hold on to the old because they think it’s better, but Jesus kept the best until last (JOHN 2:10).
My beloved, it’s time to let go of the old, and embrace the new.
Jesus said, ““Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
John 14:12-14 NKJV
My brethren, with new wine, comes new powers and freedoms, but unless it’s Christ ministry it shall profit you nothing.
Jesus is today, putting together that which He kept until last. “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”
Ephesians 4:11-32 NKJV
My beloved, hear the message of today, “Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep. Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.”
Psalms 127:1-5 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
