I Trust God, So Why Should I Be Afraid? What Can Mere Mortals Do To Me?

With God's Peace We Are More Than Millionaires

PSALM 56:3-4

“Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56:3-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

David’s asked the question, “What can flesh (people) do to me?

How much harm can people cause us?

They can inflict all kinds of pain and suffering, even bring about death, but no one can steal from us our salvation once received.

The true enemy is the demonic, but as believers we have authority over even the demons (LUKE 10:17).

As a Holy Spirit filled people our eternal future is sealed, for He “who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”

‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭1:22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The truth is, we can do more damage to ourselves.

The worst thing we can do is to reject God and lose our eternal future, a future where God will dwell among His people and there will be no pain nor suffering, nor death nor mourning, for those things have passed away (REVELATION 21:3-4).

I encourage you, when troubles comes your way, they are temporary, God is in control “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬, including your impossible situation that you are facing today.

My brethren, the best is yet to come.

It is written “do not fear” some 365 times throughout the bible, and is the root cause of anxiety/ depression. Anxiety (fear) is the very fuel that empowers depression.

If you visit a doctor and he or she shall diagnose you with anxiety/ depression, and tell you there’s no cure, but with counselling, pills, or both, we can control it. Therefore, if it needs controlling, it is living within you, making your life miserable, even weakening your immune system and your ability to heal from other illness.

The spirit of fear is an unclean spirit, and like all demons , come to steal, kill, and destroy (JOHN 10:10) your life, your peace, your joy, and bring about eternal death.

Like squatters, they make one’s body their home, and influence their victims to do their will.

By taking away it’s fuel, fear which is the opposite of faith, you starve the depression and take away its power, and with a little rebuke, combined with repentance and faith, like all demons, fear and depression will leave.

“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ NKJV

The truth is, sin lets the devil in and we become demonised or possessed.

These demons will attack our very soul, our mind, will and emotions to bring confusion, fear, torment, and can and influence our desires, cravings, and decisions, then we find ourselves doing, like Paul, that what is not of God, and failing to do do what we ought (ROMANS 7:15-23).

Furthermore, they enter through the sins of our ancestors, so many people are born demonised.

It seems like an impossible situation.

Paul said, “O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭7‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus is the only answer; He is the way, the truth, and the life; He is the only way to our Father in heaven (JOHN 14:6) and all we need do is submit and believe on Him.

The truth is, with a mustard seed of faith, we shall move the mountains in our lives (MATHEW 27:20-21) and we shall be free (JOHN 8:36).

Freedom in Christ brings peace, joy, and contentment, and opens doors to fulfilment and service to God.

Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it (JOHN 14:12-14).

The question is, do you believe?

Paul tells us, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

My beloved, with God’s peace and nothing else, you are more than a millionaire.

If you find yourself in repetitive sin, or caught up in addiction, or suffer from insomnia, or struggle with nightmares, or suffer from anxiety/ depression, eating disorders, or have any mental health issues, or indeed it seems like your life is cursed, always in poverty, or struggling with relationships, like something strange is happening, you are most likely cursed or demonised or both, and need deliverance which is key to a change life.

Jesus died on a cross to pay your debt of sin and set you free from the curse of sin and even death itself; what an awesome price He paid.

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”

‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

But as Isaiah said, “Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

My beloved, believe and receive.

Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

‭‭John‬ ‭8‬:‭34‬-‭36‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
