Love The Lord Your God With All Your Heart, And With All Your Soul, And With All Your Strength

DEUTERONOMY 6:4-11
“”Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

This passage provides the central them of Deuteronomy, setting a pattern that helps us relate to the word of God in our daily lives.
We are to love God, learn, study, and keep His word in our hearts, that we have it at hand when we need it.
Furthermore , we must take responsibility for our children-eternal truths are most effectively learned in the loving environment of a Christian home.
In today’s world, we cannot trust our churches or schools to teach God’s word, and they cannot be used as an escape from the responsibility of teaching them ourselves.
We must make every effort to include them in home study time and fellowship, living together by Christian values, and testing everything we hear from churches, schools, and the media.
Good regular fellowship bonds loving relationships within Gods family and paves the way for growth in Christ through Spirit led teaching.
Loving God is more than attending church once a week, it is a way of life based on personal relationship with Christ.
The truth is, without relationship with Christ, one cannot know Him, and if you do not make the effort to know Him in this life, He will refuse to know you in the next (MATHEW 7:21-23).
Jesus said, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets (MATHEW 22:37-39; LEVITICUS 19:18).
These two commandments combined encompass all the Old Testament laws-and is the foundation of all God’s commandments and the Christian way of life.
Jesus also said, “”You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”

To “love” is to include even our enemies. That’s not to say we believers should like what our enemies do or agree with them, but to care for them as we care for ourselves.
We Spirit filled should stand out, shining for Christ by our kindness toward others. Jesus went on to say, “For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”

If only we could all put into practice these great commandments of love, this world would soon become a better place to live.
