When You Pray Do not Use Meaningless Repetition As The Gentiles Do, For They Think They Will Be Heard Because Of Their Many Words

God Hears Genuine Prayers Before They Were Even Known

MATHEW 6:5-8
“”And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:5-8‬ ‭NKJV‬

Sadly, many, especially religious people and leaders want to be heard by man rather than God. They plan out their prayers carefully, using long sophisticated words to impress the crowds so that they can put themselves on a pedestal or even influence people to reward them in some other way, maybe financially.
The truth is, these prayers are not likely to be heard, in fact some are not prayer at all, but rather “boasting” or acting, putting themselves on a pedestal, trying to steal God’s glory, or even attempting to profit financially from the needy people.
The truth is, they can expect nothing from the Lord, for they already have their just reward.
Some pray from the thoughts of their flesh, desperately trying to tick the boxes; like lawyers they pray, hoping that they will convince the judge that their prayers are answered, but the truth is, simple child like prayers from one’s heart are more than enough, for God has heard ones genuine prayers before they were even known.
Lone time with God in conversation is paramount to one’s relationship with God, not just speaking, but listening and taking on board what the Lord has to say.
Of course, their is a time for us to join together in prayer and fasting , for when we believers come together against the enemy, it shows unity and brings power. Jesus said, ““Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:19-20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God's Word is the Law, so it makes sense to speak it out over situations.

David brought many words of deliverance in the psalms, and speaking them out brings good results, freedoms, and healing time and time again. By experience we know this to be true.

Many say we shouldn't repeat the Lord's prayer because it was His personal prayer. But the truth is, it is the perfect Word of God to speak over the the  house of Israel. It shall bring amazing results.

So speaking out God's Word is not the vain repetitive prayer Jesus was talking about.

Heathens are people who don't really know God, even if they think they do.

Therefore, they are not Spirit filled, and pray from the flesh, their very souls.

Their prayers will often repeat themselves as they search for words that usually come from emotions, like pity, fear, anger, and rage. Others simply choose words that impress the crowds.

These prayers shall achieve nothing good, and their reward at best fills them with either more pride, money, or both, and that is their just reward.

My beloved, we are called to pray ALWAYS in the Spirit (EPHESIANS 6:18), not from our flesh as the heathens do.

The Holy Spirit will give us the write words and Scripture needed for the situation, all we need do is ask and it shall be given (MATHEW 7:7-9).
But not all prayer is battling. Prayer is communicating with God. It is the only way to develop a personal relationship with Christ. Therefore, go into your room, shut the door, and talk to your Father in secret where there’s no one else to impress.
He wants personal relationship with you, and the only way to build relationship with anyone is through private heart felt conversations and loyalty. Therefore, do it often.

But sharing everything you hear from Him is not loyalty, nor is it personal, but rather like gossip.
Therefore, unless God is leading you to speak out, keep quiet, keep your relationship with God personal.
Furthermore, Jesus said, do not use vain repetition-He heard you the first time; make your prayers simple and most importantly, sincere with a thankful heart.
Jesus will respond to the humble heart; He said, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My brothers and sisters, we all like to be acknowledged; but there’s no excuse for stealing God’s glory, not that we can. He wants to use you powerfully, but not if it drags you into selfish ambitions.
Give God all that is rightfully His; all the praise and glory. We can do nothing without Jesus Christ, but all things are possible with God (LUKE 18:27; MATHEW 19:26).
Referring to those who like the sound of their own voice, Jesus said, ““Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My brethren, when it comes to your needs, ask God with a thankful heart and trust Him to provide.
“Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:30-34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

My  beloved, when it comes to our daily provisions, we need not even ask, but rather by seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all, not some, but all shall be added to you.
Finally my brethren, Paul gave us good advice. “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:4-7‬ ‭NKJV‬
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
