PSALM 19:1-6
“The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoices like a strong man to run its race. Its rising is from one end of heaven, And its circuit to the other end; And there is nothing hidden from its heat.

Here, David meditates on God’s creation, His word, David’s own sinfulness, and God’s faithfulness and forgiveness.
As God is revealed to us through nature, we learn about His limitless abilities, power and strength, and our human limitations. Furthermore, as God reveals Himself through His word, we learn about His perfection (holiness) and our sinfulness (7-11), and as He reveals Himself through our daily experiences (12-14), we learn about His faithfulness, grace, and forgiveness that frees us from the power of sin, death, and guilt.
We have no reason to doubt God’s presence, His creation, His holiness and perfect Law. To even suggest the universe simply happened by chance is totally absurd, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that we are without excuse (ROMANS 1:20).
We are surrounded by God’s awesome craftsmanship, the heavens are dramatic evidence of not just His existence, but His unimaginable power, abilities, and strength. My brothers and sisters in Christ, “Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful. Praise the LORD with the harp; Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings. Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy. For the word of the LORD is right, And all His work is done in truth. He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD. By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.”

All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
