Put On The Full Amor Of God, So That You Can Take Your Stand Against The Devil's Schemes

With Sin Comes The Consequences Of It

EPHESIANS 6:10-12
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
”‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-12‬ ‭NKJV‬

In our Christian lives we find ourselves in many battles and are constantly under attack.
“Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.”
‭‭I Peter‬ ‭4:12-13‬ ‭NKJV‬
In our walk with God, we all face all kinds of troubles; financial, relationship, health, temptation, persecution, and much more. But the truth is, the root of these troubles comes from the devil himself. Therefore, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”
‭‭I Peter‬ ‭5:8-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Just as God uses evil people for good, the devil uses godly people to do evil. He has many evil schemes: lies, deception, false allegations, and all kinds of temptations that fuel sin, hate, and division throughout God’s people.
It can at times feel like everyone is against us. But the truth is, our battle is not with people, but with the devil himself.
Therefore my brethren, Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:11-12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
These evils are not just myths and fantasies, they are very real and their goal is to steal, and to kill, and destroy your lives (JOHN 10:10).
My brothers and sisters in Christ, we face a powerful army that is set on defeating Christ Church.
These evils are our enemies and will try every trick in the book and use every evil soul destroying scheme and device they can muster up to drag us away from God, back into sin and brokenness.
They are looking for ways to open the doors into your body to take possession and make your body their home.
From within, their goal is manipulate and take control of your mind, will and emotions, and ultimately your actions and bring about death.
They are able to take possession of our bodies when we fall into sin, and operate through the soul, the control centre of our thoughts and decisions.
Many say the devil cannot possessed anyone because possession is ownership, but if someone steals your car, that person has possession, but does not own it.
Even if you are bound to a passenger seat, the thief can take it in any direction he wishes and cause much damage until he is stopped and removed.
Squatters can take possession of a home, but when the owner gets a court order from the judge, he is evicted-possession is not ownership.
These evil spirits cannot necessarily false their victims to do every evil, but their influence is very overpowering.
Many believe they are hearing God’s direction, but actually, they hear the devil’s from within who will twist God’s Word and instruction to bring about his own agendas.
Because these devil’s are manipulating one’s thoughts and emotions, it will often sound and feel right, but actually, they do the devil’s work and speak his words and cause pain and disruption to even their loved ones.
Unlike the Holy Spirit, who enters your body when invited in agreement as a helper (JOHN 14:15-18), unclean spirits enter your body uninvited when you open the door through sin.
In fact, many people are born into the world demonised through generational and ancestral ties that go back through family history (ROMANS 5:12).
Many believers say a Christian cannot be possessed because the Holy Spirit will not share His vessl. But the truth is, we have many rooms within, and when we sin in a particular area, we become in agreement with the devil.
Though the Holy Spirit joins our spirit (ROMANS 8:16-39, and seals our salvation (EPHESIANS 1:13-14; 2 CORINTHIANS 1:22), sin places a barrier between our soul and God, and the devil enters and makes our lives miserable. We do things we do not want to do, and fail to do the things we ought (ROMANS 7:13-25).
Furthermore, it can feel like God has left us, that we are very much alone, but He does not break His promises, He will never leave us orphans (JOHN 14:15-18).
When the Holy Spirit enters to join one’s spirit and seals his salvation, He already knew of all the sins, both past and future, and accepted him regardless and will not break His promises.
It is very clear, even by Jesus instruction within the Lord’s Prayer that deliverance is for believers alone.
He told to us to pray, “deliver us from the evil one (MATHEW 6:23).” Who is “us”? Believers of Christ, Israel, God’s people! Who is the “evil one”? The devil!
Deliverance is for God’s people, those who believe on Him.
Jesus said to a woman from Canaan with a possessed daughter, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭15:24-26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Jesus refused to help until she proved her belief in Him and was ultimately saved.
The enemy cannot take captive their own, for they are already in agreement with one another.
But this woman’s faith opened the door for deliverance; “she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭15:27-28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Thank God, we Spirit filled believers have authority over such evil spirits to cast them out (LUKE 10:17); that when we bring them before the Judge having ticked all the boxes, through faith, deliverance will be achieved.
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Like squatters, these devil’s will not leave the house willingly, they need to be evicted and sometimes a raised voice is needed (see Luke 4:33-35).
But having said that, prevention is always better than cure.
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:13-20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Do you hear voices, or find yourself in repetitive sin. Or are you chained to some kind of addiction? Are you forever tired, sick, or suffer from anxiety depression? Do you feel constantly crushed and experience suicidal thoughts? Does it feel like something strange is happening in your life or that you are cursed? If so you may well be “demonised” and in need of deliverance.
I encourage you, help is at hand. “And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the LORD has said, Among the remnant whom the LORD calls.”
‭‭Joel‬ ‭2:32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My brothers and sisters, call upon the name of the Lord in prayer and He shall make a way for you, that you shall be delivered, freed from the devil’s chains by the blood of the Lamb.
Don’t be worried or embarrassed to ask someone you trust for help. Confession takes away the devil’s hand, removes his chains, and opens doors to freedom.
With sin comes the consequences of it, but when we take responsibility for our actions, we may well live out the consequences in this temporary world, but our salvation remains sealed, for there is no condemnation for those in Christ (ROMANS 8:1). Furthermore, God will use those difficult consequences for good ( ROMANS 8:28).
The time has come to walk in the truth and authority that God has given you. No longer justifying sin, but taking responsibility for your own actions.
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4:7-8‬. ‭ Then you shall be able to obey Jesus words-“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, the life of a believer can be very trying, “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:37-39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
