Prove By The Way You Live That You Have Repented Of Your Sins And Turned To God

Put On Your New Nature Of Christ

Mathew 3:8-12
“Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭3:8-12‬ ‭NKJV‬

Assembly is good, but what is the point if you’re heart isn’t in it? What is the point of taking in God’s Word, if you don't put into practice what it says, or you don’t get understanding or revelation that only comes from God?
Being baptized is good too, but what is the point if your commitment is half hearted?
My beloved, don’t think that you are saved simply because you attend church every week, or because you went into the baptism water. Only when one is baptised in the Spirit is He saved (EPHESIANS 1:14; 2 CORINTHIANS 1:22).
God is actively cutting of every tree that fails to produce good fruit.
My brethren if you truly repent, not only are you willing to change, you shall turn from all sin and experience real change; and those changes will shine through and attract unbelievers to God’s Kingdom; you shall bear fruits worthy of repentance, for you are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden (MATHEW 5:14).
“Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:21-25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, don't fool yourselves, repent of your sins and keep putting into practice everything you have learned, and then when you are ready to be baptized with water, our God will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. Furthermore, you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and He will help you and transform into a new creation-He will be in you and never leave you (JOHN 14:15-18).
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Are you producing good fruits? Do you see change in your life? Or does it seem like you are going round and round to the same old troubles doing the same old sinful things?
Jesus has done His part-He died on a cross to pay your debt. But If you want change you must actively cooperate with Him and submit to Him and His will for you.
We cannot produce good fruit in our own strength, but only by putting our old sinful nature to death and being totally obedient to the indwelling holy Spirit.
The flesh is never happy to give up its dominion nor its lust, but unless one dies of such things, he shall not see the Kingdom of God. The truth is, one must be born again (JOHN 3:5-7).
My beloved, it is time to put on the new nature of Christ, to discipline ourselves that our attitudes and responses are right before God. “Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭12‬-‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
It is being a doer of the Word and obedience to God in love that ultimately brings peace and joy into our lives.
But the flesh will in the beginning respond negatively to one’s obedience to God, as the lust of the flesh are no longer being satisfied.
Therefore, rather than worldly things, look to Christ for joy and contentment.
My beloved, even those responses like fear, self pity, sorrow, and depression must be put behind us and replaced with the joyful nature of Christ. There is no place for a negative attitude for those in Christ. The the truth is, joy in the Lord is our strength (NEHEMIAH 8:10).
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
These things cannot be achieved in our own strength, but only by the empowering, indwelling, Spirit of God, who is our help in time of need (JOHN 14:15-18).
A positive attitude is a decision and an action to turn things like fear into faith, sorrow into joy, self-pity into thankfulness, and depression into peace.
Only by putting our trust in Christ Jesus can we achieve true and lasting contentment in the chaos of this dark world.
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:16-26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
