2 CORINTHIANS 1:3-5
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.

We all face troubles, James said “when” not “if” we face various troubles (JAMES 1:2).
Many think because God comforts us in troubled times, that our troubles should simply magically disappear, but that is not the case.
God allows our trials and challenges so that we can learn from them, to build us up and strengthen us and change the way we think, transforming us from our sinful nature, to become Christ like in our behaviours and responses (ROMANS 12:1-2). Our troubles are not going to leave until they have accomplished their purpose.
.James said, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
James 1:2-5 NKJV
God is always close by, ready and willing to give one the wisdom he or she needs to get through. But He won’t simply do it for you, for nothing good will come from that.
He wants us to ask for and trust in His wisdom . But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
James 1:6-8 NKJV
In all our trials and testings, God gives us a way, but we have choice-my way or God’s way; by the leading of the Spirit or the leading of the flesh.
It is by our choices that we learn to trust God; when we submit to His way, we are victorious, but when we follow our old sinful way, we are separated from God and continue to struggle in the same old until we make the decision to submit to our Lord.
With testing comes temptation. Just like students are tested regularly to monitor their progress, so we believers are tested to our limits because we cannot climb to the next level until we have succeeded in the level we’re at.
But it is comforting to know that “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it (1 CORINTHIANS 10:13).”
As we face our troubles, by following the leadership of the Holy Spirit, we shall grow from strength to strength through our victories, as will our trust in the Lord, because we will know by experience that He causes all things to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose (8:28).
My beloved, He is our helper ((JOHN 14:16), and He will help you through your seemingly impossible situation that you are facing today; the truth is, nothing is impossible with God (LUKE 1:37; MATHEW 19:26).
He already went before you to make a way, and even if it doesn’t feel like it, He is with your through it all, He will not leave nor forsake you (DEUTERONOMY 31:8).
As I have told you before , ““Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NKJV
As you face trial after trial and become victorious over them, you shall grow in faith and become more able to help and comfort others through their troubles.
My brethren, focus on Jesus, and like Peter, walk with Him upon the stormy waters you are in; knowing that if you become overwhelmed by the noise of storm and start to sink, He is within arms reach to take your hand and lead you back to the safety of the boat and calm the storm (MATHEW 14:22-33).
He is faithful not only to help, but also to give you comfort throughout the process so abundantly that even in the midst of your own storm, you shall comfort others with the comfort which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:27 NKJV
Fear my beloved, is another word for anxiety and worry, and is the very opposite of faith, by which one’s salvation stands upon. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
No wonder it is written some 365 times in the Bible, “do not fear.”
Fear is the very food of anger, rage, depression, sadness, heaviness, and such things as these, and steals our peace and joy in Christ, which is our strength (NEHEMIAH 8:10).
“”Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Matthew 6:31-34 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
