A Prayer Of Deliverance
PSALM 59:16

David, throughout this Psalm describes the evil behaviour in grim detail of his enemies. He conveys his own feelings of fear and dread, with the desperation and despair that he sees in the lives of his enemies who want to cause him harm.
How encouraging it is to see that God’s mercy was upon David, He was David’s defence and refuge in his days of trouble, regardless of his faults and failures.
Just like David, God loves you, and He is merciful; He is your defence, your strength and refuge, your very present help in time of need PSALM 46:1).
Throughout David’s life, he had learned to turn his troubles into constant reminders of God’s faithfulness and praised Him for it.
This is the example to follow; like David, we can encourage and strengthen ourselves as we face the trials and challenges of daily life, simply by reminding ourselves of what God has done in our lives in the past, and praise Him for it with a thankful heart.
In David’s day, he faced a brutal physical enemy, but the truth is, the real enemy is Satan and his fallen angels, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
My beloved David’s prayer of times past in his physical battles, is your spiritual prayer and action that will result in deliverance and healing today.
By making David’s prayer your prayer and actions, you open the door for our merciful God to defeat the real enemy in your life, Satan, and break the curses he has placed on you; poverty, broken marriages, addictions, sickness and mental health issues, anger, rage, inappropriate thoughts, and all kinds of issues, and give protection from your persecutors.
Only Jesus can set you free. Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
John 8:31-36 NKJV
Yes, sing out praises to God in the midst of your enemies, for many miracles come from the power of prayer and worship.
We all face troubles, but God uses them for our good.
It is reassuring to know that God causes all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (ROMANS 8:28).
James told us, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
James 1:2-4 NKJV
I encourage you, whatever troubles you are facing today, not only does God know about them, but He is using them for your good; to build your faith and your patience that you become perfect and complete, needing nothing.
The truth is my brethren, you already have the victory through Christ Jesus who is your strength (1 CORINTHIANS 15:57).
Therefore my beloved, like David in the midst of his enemies, sing of God’s power; Yes, sing aloud of His mercy in the morning; For He has been your defense And refuge in the day of trouble.
As for me, “O my Strength, I will sing praises; For God is my defense, My God of mercy.” He is my strength and refuge, my very present help in time of need.
My beloved, if you are going round and around to the same old troubles, money or lack of, broken relationships, or suffer with anxiety/ depression, or experiencing suicidal thoughts, insomnia or are experiencing nightmares, or are just simply struggling in life, like something strange is happening to you and everything seems to be against you, make this psalm your prayer and action and be delivered from the real enemy, the source of your troubles.
“Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; Defend me from those who rise up against me. Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, And save me from bloodthirsty men. For look, they lie in wait for my life; The mighty gather against me, Not for my transgression nor for my sin, O Lord. They run and prepare themselves through no fault of mine. Awake to help me, and behold! You therefore, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, Awake to punish all the nations; Do not be merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah At evening they return, They growl like a dog, And go all around the city. Indeed, they belch with their mouth; Swords are in their lips; For they say, “Who hears?” But You, O Lord, shall laugh at them; You shall have all the nations in derision. I will wait for You, O You his Strength; For God is my defense. My God of mercy shall come to meet me; God shall let me see my desire on my enemies. Do not slay them, lest my people forget; Scatter them by Your power, And bring them down, O Lord our shield.
