Trust In The Lord And Do Good

PSALM 37:3-4
“Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:3-4‬ ‭NKJV‬

We all face trials and challenges in our everyday lives; money, relationships, health, and much more. But “”Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:7-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Trusting God and doing good is having a confident belief that whilst you are doing good helping others, serving the LORD, He has your back covered.
Serving the LORD is far more than evangelising and doing good deeds, but of course, we believers are called to do just that.
One does not employ someone to do what he likes, he employs with a pacific purpose in mind.
My beloved, God has an individual and pacific plan for each and every one of us (JEREMIAH 29:11) and has spiritually gifted us individually to carry out His works according to His plans and purposes (1 CORINTHIANS 12:4-11).
Therefore, when one rejoices in the LORD, He shall give him or her the desires not just of the personal things in their hearts, but also to do what pleases Him and the power to it (PHILIPPIANS 2:13).
But He doesn’t give us anything that we cannot handle or will lead us into self-destruction, like an abundance of money until we are ready to use it appropriately for God’s kingdom without it being able to drag us back into sin (1 TIMOTHY 6:10).
The truth is, the material things of this world are temporary and nothing more than vanity.
Therefore, ““Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:19-21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
We all have needs, and so often we are distracted from God by the trials of every day life; how to pay the mortgage this month; the car has broken down; I’ve lost my job. We all face these things, but we shouldn’t allow them to steal our peace or focus on Christ.
Peter was able to walk on the stormy sea while focused on Jesus, and yes, when he heard the noise of the wind, when he became overwhelmed by the storm, when he lost his focus and started to sink, Jesus was there within arms reach to take his hand, lead him back to the boat, and then calm the storm (MATHEW 14:22-33).
Like Peter, what ever stormy seas you are going through in your life, you can, by remaining focused on Jesus and trusting Him, walk on the stormy waters, putting your situation firmly under your feet. But if you start to sink, you can be certain that Jesus is there within arms reach to take your hand, lead back to safety, and calm the storm. The victory my beloved is already yours through Christ who strengthens you (1 CORINTHIANS 15:57).
My brethren, we believers are of one body, and all must operate individually within in unity by the leading of the head, Jesus Christ (EPHESIANS 4:11). “And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭23‬-‭26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
To trust God with our personal challenges, and continue to reach out to help others goes against our natural inclinations. But while God in the midst of your issues, sent you to help a brother or sister, he sends another to help you. He puts the right people gifted accordingly in the right place to help one another.
Not only does this defeat the enemy, but it also stirs up love within the whole body which then becomes unified in that love, and every individual part comes together like a well oiled machine to work together smoothly with the power and strength of Jesus Christ. ““Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
But where there’s divisions, the power is lost for lack of agreement.
“Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭27‬-‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, the enemy will continue to attack, whether through money, relationships, neighbours, and even our families and loved ones. But when we remain in unity, we are strong in Christ and will defeat the enemies plans.
But when it comes to basic provisions, we don’t even need to ask.
“Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:30-34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My brethren, God has your back covered, He knows your needs, He loves you, and He won't fail you; indeed, take delight in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart. All you need do is cooperate and believe.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
