If Any Of You Lacks Wisdom, You Should Ask God Who Gives Generously To All Without Finding Fault, And It Shall Be Given To You

God's Wisdom Is Above All Wisdom

JAMES 1:5-8
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

By wisdom, James is talking about more than just knowledge, he is talking about receiving God’s wisdom and gaining the ability to make decisions and stand on His wisdom regardless of what is happening around us.
The starting point for wisdom is genuine reverence for God (PSALM 111:10; PROVERBS 9:10), and faith that God is in control of all circumstances; that He causes all things to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them (ROMANS 8:28).
Believers don’t have to grope around in the dark looking for a way, they can ask God and He is always faithful to pour out generously His wisdom without reproach.
Their is no wisdom greater than God’s wisdom, indeed the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men (1 CORINTHIANS 1:25).
God’s wisdom is practical, it relates to life even in the most trying times. It is not isolated from suffering and trials, rather it is the tool that works with our faith by which our trials and challenges are overcome.
God’s wisdom is divine, it goes beyond common sense.
Being led to be full of joy in the middle of chaos and the most challenging of trials does not come from common sense.
This wisdom begins with high respect of God and leads to living by God’s direction; it also gives us the ability to understand right from wrong.
Any person who doubts is not completely convinced that God’s way is always best. He sees God’s wisdom as any other human advise and retains the option to disobey, ignore and do things his own way.
He vacillates between allegiance to subjective feelings, the world’s ideas, and God’s commands. He can expect his life to be unsettled like the ocean waves driven and tossed by the wind.
Asking for wisdom is ultimately asking God to make us Christ-like, for Christ is both the power of God and the wisdom of God (1 CORINTHIANS 1:24; 2:1-7).
We all have a choice; it’s God’s way or my way.
If we are are going back and forth from God’s way to ours, we will become double minded and unsettled in all our ways, being tossed around by the waves of the storms we face.
Therefore my brethren, put your trust in God alone; follow the path He has laid for you, for His Word is a lamp unto your feet (HEBREWS 4:12).
I say then, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones. Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine. My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights. Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her. The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens; By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And clouds drop down the dew. My son, let them not depart from your eyes— Keep sound wisdom and discretion; So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, their really isn’t anything like God’s wisdom, and He who trusts and walks in it shall be blessed. “For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Therefore, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:4-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
