Don't Be Poisoned By The World

“Give us this day our daily bread.
”Matthew 6:11 NKJV
We all need our daily bread, not just physical food, but spiritual too.
My brethren, the food we take in will have a dramatic affect on our health.
If one eats only junk food, he or she is likely to become physically unfit.
The same goes for our spiritual food; what we take in will affect our spiritual well-being, and we shall become what we eat.
If we continue to take in the unhealthy content that is thrown at us through TV and the media, it will in time poison our hearts and minds, just as physical junk food in time will poison our flesh and may cause irreversible damage.
Jesus said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ””
Matthew 4:4 NKJV
It is saddening that many believers find time to take the immoral content that comes via the media, inappropriate films, games, music, violent content, pornography, false prophecy, teachings, and other content that poisons and twist our hearts and minds; and even more concerning that their children are given full access to that content too.
But when it comes to God’s word, they can’t spare even 30 minutes a day, and then wonder why their lives go round and round to the same old troubles and despair.
They find themselves and their children falling into all kinds of sinful actions and behaviour, and never seem to grow in Christ.
Many are bound in poverty, lack, and all kinds of sicknesses and depression.
My beloved, the devil is spoon feeding the nations with poison and fake news; the fake news media are the false prophets of today, and they feed us through many outlets, like gaming, technology, films, and music.
Not all, but many news outlets are not news at all; they are proper gander tools of corrupt leaders and of ultimately the devil.
Like all false prophets, they tell you what they want you to hear and believe; they feed you with what they want you to take in, and stir up your emotions that you believe it.
Fear is the number one weapon of the devil. It is, just like hot is the opposite cold, the opposite of faith.
Fear is the food of depression, a powerful demon, and a tool of control.
But the Good News is, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
II Timothy 1:7 NKJV
The Bible tells us some 365 times “do not fear.”
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
James 4:7-10 NKJV
In other words, submit your life completely to God, repent of all sin, including the fear, and he shall flee from you.
Once removed, your spirit of power, love, and of a sound mind shall heal and restore.
Depression and suicidal thoughts will cease and peace and joy shall be replenished.
However my beloved, prevention is better than cure. Therefore, stay away from all inappropriate content, and test and approve everything else.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.”
I John 4:1-3 NKJV
But most important, make time to read your bibles and take in God’s word for yourself. “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12 NKJV
We learn knowledge by reading and studying the Word, but to gain understanding and revelation, we need God to remove the vail, for we are all blinded (2 CORINTHIANS 3:14-15).
“Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
II Corinthians 3:16-18 NKJV
Therefore my beloved, ask for it, and it shall be given (MATHEW 7:7).
God’s Word actively works within to change even the way one thinks; but it cannot achieve its purpose until you take it in, chew it over, and digest it.
God’s Word is medicine to your soul; it will, if put into practice, bring change to the way one thinks, responds, and behaves. Furthermore, it brings peace and joy as it teaches and transforms from the inside.
But one must cooperate with God and remain obedient to receive the benefits.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:1-2 NKJV
My beloved, man cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.
Make the decision today to make time to take in God’s word. Make it the main course of your every day.
One cannot overdose on God’s Word, but regular intake brings healing, peace, joy, and the confident hope of life everlasting.
