Psalm 105 is a reminder that God does not change His mind; He always stands by His promises forever (v8).
Many promises are short term-you promise to keep paying monthly instalments until a debt is paid, or you promise to continue working until a certain job is finished.
Other promises are long-term, though human promises can only ever be temporary in this world today.
But God’s promises are promises that will last all eternity; they are forever promises including His promise of life everlasting (REVELATION 21:3-4).
The first fifteen verses of this Psalm are also found in 1 Chronicles 16:8-22, where they are sung as part of a celebration of David’s bringing of the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem.
God put a rainbow in the sky as a promise to Noah, saying “never again” (GENESIS 9:9-11). His promise to Noah was a forever promise.
He promised Abraham, not only for the land, but also for lineage that would be a blessing to all “families of the earth (Genesis 12:3)”; that promise was a forever promise and it will never cease.
Although God’s people were given a forever promise with the stipulation that they obey and fear Him as the Almighty God, they wouldn’t do it.
The people failed in every way possible.
For example, look at the book of Judges. Not only did the people turn away from God, but they turned to idolatry.
The people not only stopped obeying, they actively disobeyed.
The demands of the prophets that God sent were ignored, yet God gave them chance after chance after chance, only to be rejected.
If God’s people wanted to play that game, God would inevitably bring discipline, and they would have to face the consequences of living as if they didn’t belong to God.
The same can be said for today; if the people continue to live as if they don’t belong to God, they can expect a response and He will bring justice.
He started that justice within the church and world leaders. As He exposes the corruption, over six thousand churches have closed their doors over the past few years. Furthermore, no matter how the is being silenced, people are waking up to the evil within world leaders and governments.
God will not allow the lies and corruption to continue without consequence, and the hidden agendas are being exposed and those responsible will be dealt with.
God took away His hand from the nation of Israel and they fell to their enemies (see 2 KINGS and 2 CHRONICLES).
The Israelites were disobedient and temporarily lost the covenant promises. Temporary, because God had made a forever covenant, and He stands on it and never goes back on His promises.
Though the people fell to their enemies, God sent prophets with messages of hope, freedom, and forgiveness. He reminded them that He hadn’t forgotten His covenant, but something had to change. They couldn’t continue in their disobedience.
Despite all the sin and disobedience in the world, God’s promises continue to stand for “all” who believe today.
My beloved, Jesus time is now, and as in the first miracle, He has produced the new wine and it is being poured out over His chosen people; the new wine skins prepared for such a time as this (LUKE 5:37-39).
My beloved, this world has never been so dark and corrupt.
The evil deeds of the devil are being pushed onto our children through our school curriculums and are contaminating the whole world, removing our very identity as male and female.
The sexual immorality is as in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah or worse.
The world financial systems are breaking, as is our health systems; but the truth is, they have always been temporary and their time is up.
There’s never been such a time as this and it cannot continue for much longer; Jesus return is imminent, but not before a last call of repentance and revival of the true church. Not man’s religious church, that has gone. But rather, Jesus apostolic five fold ministry (EPHESIANS 4:11) and the time is now.
“”Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. Who knows if He will turn and relent, And leave a blessing behind Him— A grain offering and a drink offering For the Lord your God? Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; Gather the people, Sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and nursing babes; Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing room. Let the priests, who minister to the Lord, Weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord, And do not give Your heritage to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ ” Then the Lord will be zealous for His land, And pity His people. The Lord will answer and say to His people, “Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil, And you will be satisfied by them; I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations. “But I will remove far from you the northern army, And will drive him away into a barren and desolate land, With his face toward the eastern sea And his back toward the western sea; His stench will come up, And his foul odor will rise, Because he has done monstrous things.” Fear not, O land; Be glad and rejoice, For the Lord has done marvelous things! Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field; For the open pastures are springing up, And the tree bears its fruit; The fig tree and the vine yield their strength. Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you— The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the Lord your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame. “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.“
