Life is full of troubles, and it can be very overwhelming; as those troubles grow and loom over us, fears and challenges press us, and responsibilities are forever present.
In today’s world of darkness, the pressure is mounting.
We don’t know what troubles the palmist was facing when he wrote Psalm 46, or indeed, what disaster’s were befalling the people of Israel. But the first words that come from their mouths was “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;”

The palmists spoke God love and protection over themselves and it came to pass.
Fear can’t help us, but God can and will if you allow Him to.
Fear is the opposite of faith, and another word for anxiety. Furthermore, fear is the root cause and food of all anxiety/ depression that so many are suffering throughout the world today.
Not fearing is a determined choice that we can all make by putting our trust in God.
God tells us some 365 times throughout the bible, “Do not fear;” when you have overcome “fear,” anxiety/ depression cannot live within you.
Psalm 46 provided the Israelites with some powerful truths; Even though, earth quakes come and mountains crumble into the sea, the oceans roar and foam, God was in the midst of the city, and it could not be destroyed because God’s protection was upon it (verses 2, 3, and 5.)
After all the confession to God and the psalmist trust in Him, believers received a blessed assurance that they was safe in His hands, and God’s voice was saying to them , “Be still and know that I am God” (v 10).
I encourage you, that whatever troubles you are facing right now, God is in the midst of them, He won’t abandon you, He is faithful to help and He is in control. He has authority over all sickness, addictions, poverty, lack, and all things, and as a Spirit filled believer, that authority is in you; but we need to learn how to use it.
The roots of our physical trials and tribulations are in the spiritual realms, for what is bound in the spirit is bound on earth, and what is loosed in the spirit is loosed on earth. Jesus said, ”“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”“

In Old Testament times the battles were outward physical battles, but today the battles are within us; the battle is in the soul, the mind, will, and emotions (GALATIANS 5:17).
David said, ”Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.“
Psalms 23:4 NKJV
My beloved, on one side is the flesh, the devil’s ground, the other side the Spirit, God’s ground, but in the valley is our soul, the battle ground of the Spirit and flesh; “though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death”.
But to walk in the Spirit requires a renewed mind; a mind that does not conform the this world, the physical, but rather a mind that operates in the Spirit (ROMANS 12:1-2).
When Peter, focused on Christ, He was able to walk above the storm, and you can too. But even when the noise of the world becomes overwhelming, Jesus is always there to take your hand and lead you to safety and calm the storm (MATHEW 14:22-23).
David was able to face his giant because he had a renewed mind. He understood that the battle was in the spiritual realms and all he needed to do was trust God.
He took five smooth stones that represented today’s five fold ministry of Christ; taking the corner stone, God’s word and he aimed Him at the giant, bringing it down and then removing its head to silence him forever (1 SAMUEL 17:50-53).
My beloved, by operating within the five fold ministry of God, speaking Gods Word in the Spirit over every situation, you shall have the victory through Christ (ROMANS 8:37), and ”No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.“

But a new mindset is needed to shut down the emotions which the devil attacks and uses to manipulate our thought patterns.
Like the fake news media, he brings people, false teachings, and propaganda to speak into our minds to activate emotions that we believe his lies.
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.“
Romans 12:1-2 NKJV
My beloved, it is then that we become Christ like in our thoughts and responses, ”Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.“

Jesus said, ”“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.“

The only way forward in this dark world is Jesus way, for He is the way, the truth and the life, the only way to our Father in heaven (JOHN 14:6).
When we make that choice to walk His way in total obedience to Him, within His five fold ministry (EPHESIANS 4:11), lives shall change.
Fear will go to hell, and shame will go there too, along with sickness, poverty, addiction, mental health issues, and all the devil has to throw us; and like David, we shall truly say, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.“

For, ”God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn. The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has made desolations in the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire.
