ISAIAH 40:1-5
“”Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, That her warfare is ended, That her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the LORD’s hand Double for all her sins.” The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the LORD; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth; The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

Judah still had 100 years of trouble before Jerusalem would fall, and 70 years of exile, so God tells Isaiah to speak tenderly and comfort Jerusalem.
Today, we believers all face trials and challenges like never before.
God never said being a believer was going to be easy, but the troubles of today push us to our limits.
My brethren, you might not escape adversity, but you can find God's comfort as you confront it.
Sometimes however, the only comfort we have is in knowledge that someday soon we will be with God, and yes, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away (REVELATION 21:3-4
My brothers and sisters in Christ, truly I tell you, the best is yet to come.
Meanwhile, Isaiah has told us exactly where we are today: “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken lies, Your tongue has muttered perversity. No one calls for justice, Nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity. They hatch vipers’ eggs and weave the spider’s web; He who eats of their eggs dies, And from that which is crushed a viper breaks out. Their webs will not become garments, Nor will they cover themselves with their works; Their works are works of iniquity, And the act of violence is in their hands. Their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; Wasting and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they have not known, And there is no justice in their ways; They have made themselves crooked paths; Whoever takes that way shall not know peace.”
Isaiah 59:1-8 NKJV
We all see the lies and corruption in this world, but very few are seeking truth, justice, nor righteousness.
But the truth is, we are facing an invisible enemy dominating the corrupt governments of this world.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
These evil beings have infiltrated our governments, church, and even our schools with satanic ideas of sexual immorality, and all kinds of perverse things.
The devil, knowing his time is short (REVELATION 12:12), is working hard to steal the true identity of mankind that he takes all to the pits of hell with him.
Furthermore, as we come closer to the day of Christ return, we shall see more and more evidence of the devil’s works.
But their is good news, for the Lord is revealing the truth, and the people are waking up to those truths and evil agendas, and as a result, many are turning to God in repentance.
My beloved, we shall see the glory of God more and more, and revival is inevitable.
Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth; The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” The voice said, “Cry out!” And he said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is grass, And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, Because the breath of the Lord blows upon it; Surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” O Zion, You who bring good tidings, Get up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, You who bring good tidings, Lift up your voice with strength, Lift it up, be not afraid; Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold your God!” Behold, the Lord God shall come with a strong hand, And His arm shall rule for Him; Behold, His reward is with Him, And His work before Him.”
Isaiah 40:1-10 NKJV
My beloved, appreciate the comfort and encouragement found in God’s Word, His promises, His presence, and His people.
Preparing a straight highway means removing obstacles and rolling out the red carpet for the coming of the Lord.
But repentance is needed to turn this around.
For the Lord has said, “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
II Chronicles 7:14 NKJV
The wasteland is a picture of life's trials and sufferings. We are not immune to these, but our faith need not be hindered by them.
Isaiah told the people to prepare to see God’s work.
John the Baptist used these words as he challenged the people to prepare for the coming Messiah (Mathew 3:3).
My beloved. 2025 is the year of new beginnings, corruption has been exposed and justice is imminent.
Furthermore, the old man’s church has all but gone and Christ five fold ministry is here (EPHESIANS 4:11-16).
My beloved, the tables have turned, and the governments shall stand upon His shoulders “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
My beloved, the corrupt are to be removed, and godly governments shall increase; and whilst the devil will be at his worst, the glory of the Lord shall be seen by all.
Therefore my beloved, stay focused on God's promise, that the best is yet to come; the promise of eternal life in paradise heaven is coming closer, and all our anxieties, sadness and sorrows will be gone forever.
Meanwhile, we believers are called to serve; for you are a soldier of Christ.
Therefore take up your cross and follow the example of Jesus. Get out there and share the Good News, and battle the enemy on your knees in prayer.
Do not water down the word of God, but rather take it in and arm yourself with it, for it is a two edged sword and your protection against the enemy.
Furthermore, stand on the commands of love, for it is a weapon of mass destruction, and all the Laws and prophets stand on these great commandments (MATHEW 22:37-40).
“Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Colossians 3:12-17 NKJV
My beloved, it is time to get serious, for Jesus is sending you out, saying “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
Matthew 10:5-8 NKJV
But my brethren, “What ever you do, do for the glory of God; and despite the evil in this world, “the Lord’s hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear.”
Isaiah 59:1 NKJV
Truly I tell you, whatever the devil throws at us, we believers remain safe in God’s hands, for God hears the cries of all who turn to Him in repentance.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
