MATHEW 6:19-21
“”Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
”Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV
We all desire to have the best home or car, money in the bank, status, and some kind of luxurious lifestyle
.It is human nature to live for self and be competitive. But the truth is, your new car started to deteriorate from the moment it came off the production line; furthermore, every car in the breakers yard started out as someone’s dream and ends up being a rusty heap
.No material thing has is lasting, nor does it have powers however nice it is, the truth is, no amount of money, status, or lifestyle can do nothing to help your eternal future; on the contrary, if one makes anything other than God too important to themselves, it becomes an idle and can steal your whole eternal future
.Money gives most people a false sense of security and often drags them away from God; “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” Whether it’s a beautiful home or jewellery, or anything else at all, you cannot take it with you into paradise
.I Timothy 6:10 NKJV
My brethren, “We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us.
”Ecclesiastes 5:15 NLT
This life is temporary; truly I tell you, the best is yet to come. So why spend your life accumulating treasure on this earth
?Everything one accumulates on this earth is nothing more than trash, including all worldly knowledge, when compared to knowing Christ Jesus
.Paul put it like this, “But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
”Philippians 3:7-11 NKJV
My beloved, invest into your eternal future; it’s not difficult to do, but it requires a firm disciplined decision to live for Christ and Christ alone
.“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God, just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
”I Corinthians 10:31-33 NKJV
God’s Word instructs us to love; it is a commandment from God. “Jesus said “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
”Matthew 22:37-40 NKJV
Love is more than a feeling, nice words, or an emotion, it is an action, a duty of care and comes from a decision; to consider others needs as important as one’s own without any expectation of something in return
.Therefore, “”Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.
”Matthew 6:1-4 NKJV
It is all about love and if everyone put these two great commandments into practice, this world would soon become a better place to live
.Jesus said, ““But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise. “But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.
”Luke 6:27-36 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen
