2 CORINTHIANS 1:3-5
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.”
II Corinthians 1:3-5 NKJV

It is easy to think that when God comforts us our troubles should leave. But surely, if that were true, people would only turn to God to be relieved of pain rather than out of love.
It’s very important to understand that as God comforts us, we receive strength, encouragement, and hope; furthermore, we are able, with the comfort God afforded us, comfort, strengthen, and encourage others too; giving them the confident hope we have in Christ Jesus.
God did not promise a us a trouble free life, but I encourage you, that in every trial you face, God went ahead of you to prepare the way, and He goes with you through it all (DEUTERONOMY 31:1); He is your comfort in time of tribulation.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe (PROVERBS 18:10-11); He is your comfort, your rock, your fortress, your deliverer, and your strength in whom you can put your trust (PSALM 18:2-3).
No matter how great the stormy waters, like Peter, you will be able to walk over those waters; but if it gets too loud, or too great, or you lose your focus and you start to sink, Jesus is right there in the stormy waters with you, close enough to take your hand and lead you back to the safety of the boat and then calm the storm (MATHEW 14:22-36).
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
