Ascension Into To 3rd Heaven

Knowing Our Place In Christ

”“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit.“
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭14‬:‭12‬-‭15‬ ‭NKJV‬

Lucifer, the devil had it all, but sadly, he has thrown it all away, because he wanted to be like God and craved and attempted to ascend in his own power, by his own willing, above his place in heaven. He challenged Gods authority and he was soon to face the consequences of his actions.
“You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. “You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you. “By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones. “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, That they might gaze at you. “You defiled your sanctuaries By the multitude of your iniquities, By the iniquity of your trading; Therefore I brought fire from your midst; It devoured you, And I turned you to ashes upon the earth In the sight of all who saw you. All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; You have become a horror, And shall be no more forever.” ’ ”“
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭28‬:‭13‬-‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
This was the downfall of the devil, “And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”“
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭12‬:‭7‬-‭12‬ NKJV
Today, the devil is desperately trying to separate the people from God, that he can take them with him, all be it to hell, that he can reign over them forever with eternal torment.
But God has overturned his plan by paying the wages of the sin of the world with the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. ”For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.“
‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, Jesus covered it all: ”He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.“
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭3‬-‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
However, Lucifer was not the only one to try to ascend above their station into the heavens. The people of babel had their plans to ascend above the ground God gave them. But again God stepped in and crushed their plans; furthermore, He scattered the people and stopped them communicating such ideas.
“Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.“
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Some today still crave to ascend into third heaven to be like God, and whilst it true some may well be caught up into heavenly places, to attempt such a practice would be seen as selfish ambition.

Never the less, since Christ ascended into heaven, they some Scripture out of context, saying, “as He is, so are we in the world (1 JOHN 4:17), and we will do greater things than Christ, because He has gone to the Father (JOHN 14:12-14). But we must understand that it not I, but Christ in me (GALATIONS 2:20). We can do nothing good in our own strength.

But Christ did ascend into heaven, and as He is, so are we in the world (1 JOHN 4:17).

Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24‬:‭51‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
But this Scripture does is not confirmation that Jesus by His will, ascended into heaven, it says He was carried up into heaven. Furthermore, Paul was caught up to third heaven, not by his willing, but Gods.
He put it like this: ”It is doubtless not profitable for me to boast. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord: I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a one was caught up to the third heaven. And I know such a man—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows— how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. Of such a one I will boast; yet of myself I will not boast, except in my infirmities. For though I might desire to boast, I will not be a fool; for I will speak the truth. But I refrain, lest anyone should think of me above what he sees me to be or hears from me.“
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
It is feasible to say that like Paul, some believers may be caught up to third heaven in their walk with God, but that doesn’t mean we can simply by our own power ascend into third heaven at will.
We invite people into our homes, but wouldn’t expect them to sneak upstairs and enter the bedrooms without invitation.
Just as it was for Lucifer and the people of babal, we cannot place ourselves high to be like God in the heavens, that is nothing less than selfish ambition and pride, the sin of Lucifer.
Trying to do that will only bring God’s wrath upon ourselves.
My beloved, we have no need to crave to be above our own station, for it is God Himself who lifts us high above anything we can understand, ”And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.“
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, we are called to walk in the Spirit (GALATIANS 5:16-26) and to dwell in the secret place of the most High; that is while we are breathing and walking here on earth and living in the safety of the Lord.

The Scripture is very clear about where should dwell in the Lord while on this earth, and that is in the secret place of the Lord, and we should abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
For "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”“
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91‬:‭1‬-‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory to God, for ever and ever! Amen.
