Apart From Me You You Can Do Not A Thing

Stay Connected To Jesus

JOHN 15:5-8
“”I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
”‭‭John‬ ‭15:5-8‬ ‭NKJV‬

Jesus says the only way to live a truly good life is to stay attached to Him. Many people try to live good honest lives, but without the indwelling Holy Spirit, they find they can do nothing good in service to God; they produce no good fruit and eventually are cast out and become like cut off branches that wither and rot away.
They cannot receive the nourishment needed for them to grow into healthy believers; they cannot produce good fruit and shall be gathered up and thrown onto the fire (eternal death).
When a vine is productive, producing “much fruit” God is glorified because He is the One who provides the sunshine, the rain, and the nourishment needed to make the crops grow. Furthermore, He persistently nurtures each tiny little plant causing it to flourish as He prepares it for blossom.
In the same way, the indwelling Holy Spirit provides, the guidance, nourishment, education, and every good thing needed to bring growth (see JOHN 14: 15-18).
Only through relationship with Christ can one stay connected to Him, and by taking in His word regularly, he receives the spiritual nourishment needed for believers to grow, and then God can nurture us with understanding and revelation, and prepare us for blossom; only then, can we produce “good fruit” that glorifies our Father in heaven.
My beloved, we must be not just hearers of the Word, but doers; “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless. Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭21‬-‭27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Furthermore, when we abide in Him, and His word abides in us, which is “living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piecing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (HEBREWS 4:12), God’s Word will be actively working within us individually to bring change, even to the way in which one thinks, that he becomes more Christ-like in his ways, responses, desires, and nature; in deed, God will help him to remove wrong desires, agendas, and cravings in his heart exposed by His Word, and give him not only the desire to do His will, but also the power to it (PHILIPPIANS 2:13). But apart from Him, you can do not a thing.
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭31‬-‭39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
