PSALM 119:113-128
“I hate the double-minded, But I love Your law. You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word. Depart from me, you evildoers, For I will keep the commandments of my God! Uphold me according to Your word, that I may live; And do not let me be ashamed of my hope. Hold me up, and I shall be safe, And I shall observe Your statutes continually. You reject all those who stray from Your statutes, For their deceit is falsehood. You put away all the wicked of the earth like dross; Therefore I love Your testimonies. My flesh trembles for fear of You, And I am afraid of Your judgments. I have done justice and righteousness; Do not leave me to my oppressors. Be surety for Your servant for good; Do not let the proud oppress me. My eyes fail from seeking Your salvation And Your righteous word. Deal with Your servant according to Your mercy, And teach me Your statutes. I am Your servant; Give me understanding, That I may know Your testimonies. It is time for You to act, O Lord, For they have regarded Your law as void. Therefore I love Your commandments More than gold, yes, than fine gold! Therefore all Your precepts concerning all things I consider to be right; I hate every false way.

There is no middle ground when it comes to obeying God, one cannot afford to be undecided between good and evil. Either you are obeying Him or you are not. Choose to obey God’s instructions, and join with the writer, saying, “I love your instructions!”
The writer is asking God for discernment and deliverance from his oppressors, the evil one, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
Our faith grows as we apply Scripture to our daily tasks and concerns. We need discernment, understanding, the desire and the power from God to apply Scripture to our daily lives, that we put into practice all we have learned.
We can gain knowledge by study, but understanding and revelation can only come from God. But the good news is, all you need do is ask, and He will give it to you.
Like medication, the Word written in our bibles only goes to work when we take it in and apply it to our every day lives and situations.
As you study your bible, be ready for lessons, commands, and examples that you can put into practice.
When you choose God’s way and put your hope in His Word, He becomes your protector, your hiding place and your shield. He will hold you up, keeping you safe.
Furthermore, whatever your trials and challenges, you will have victory through Christ who is your strength. Not always in ways that you hoped, but God’s way which is everlasting.
Therefore, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
I Peter 5:8 NKJV
The devil and his army of unclean spirits and demons are never far away waiting looking for opportunity to enter your house.
The smallest of sin will leave a crack in the door and he will enter in and dwell within you, giving him opportunities to manipulate your thoughts and decisions.
When a Spirit filled believer becomes demonised (possessed), he or she will become double minded, receiving instruction from both the devil and the Holy Spirit. No wonder the writer said, “I hate double-minded. They are potentially a danger to themselves and other believers operating one minute by the leading of the Holy Spirit, the next by the flesh, dominated by the demonic.
Do you find yourself in repetitive sin or making foolish decisions? Do you hear voices in your head or suffer with depression and suicidal thoughts, or are you caught up in addiction? Are you suffering from nightmares or having sinful desires or dreams? If so, you may need deliverance and need to attend a “born again church” operating in deliverance.
The devil’s goal is to infiltrate your soul, your mind, will, and emotions; he wants to confuse you and disrupt your decisions. He wants to steal your peace and drag you back into sin by deceiving you or overwhelming you with sinful lust and desires.
His purpose is to steal, and to kill, and to destroy both you and all other believers, and is happy to use you to do it. But Jesus said, I have come that you may have life, and that you may have it abundantly (JOHN 10:10).
The Good News is, “it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.”
Joel 2:32 NKJV
Call upon the name of the LORD and He will deliver you. “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
James 4:7-10 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
