Yet To All Who Did Receive Him, To Those Who Believed In His Name, He Gave The Right To Become Children Of God

You Must Be Born Again

JOHN 1:12-13
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
”‭‭John‬ ‭1:12-13‬ ‭NKJV‬

By believing, undeserving sinners can become full members of God’s family; indeed, He gave them the legitimate right to become children of God, we receive full redemption by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Furthermore, He sends His Holy Spirit to each every believer to help them in their walk with Christ (JOHN 14:15-18) who is the guarantee of their eternal future (EPHESIANS 1:14; 2 CORINTHIANS 1:22), and “the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”“
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Therefore, we have no excuses, God has gone beyond all extremities to redeem us and give us everlasting life.
He came to His own people, but instead of a welcome mat, Jesus had the door slammed in His face. A theme of rejection and reception appear repeatedly throughout the gospel and is very much apparent in this world today.
All who welcome Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives are reborn spiritually, receiving new life from God, a fresh start, a new beginning, and their sins washed away by the blood of the Lamb.
Yes, our God sent His only begotten Son to take your place and mine on a cross to pay our penalty of sin.
Through faith, this new birth changes us from the inside out; God starts a good work within us, that changes even the way we think. Rearranging our attitudes, desires, and motives.
Being born places you physically in your parents family and makes you physically alive (1:13). But being born again makes you spiritually alive and puts you firmly into God’s family (1:12).
Jesus said, “Don’t be surprised when I say, ‘you must be born again (JOHN 3:7), putting death to one’s old nature and putting on the new man in Christ (EPHESIANS 4:20-24).
This fresh start is available to all who believe and is eternal.
But He gave us a stark warning, saying, ”Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”“
‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
This new life not only comes with the opportunity of peace of mind and contentment in this life, but with the promise of an eternal future, where God will live among His people; He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, or sorrow, or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever (REVELATION 21:3-4).
But we must all understand, to receive our new life in Christ, we must cooperate with Him; we must let go of our old sinful selves, repent, turn toward God, and walk not in the flesh, but by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
We are all sinners and cannot walk in righteousness in our own strength. If that’s not the case, their would of been no reason for Christ to die for us (GALATIANS 2:21).
We humans cannot keep the Law in our own strength, we need God’s supernatural help to transform us into a new creation (2 CORINTHIANS 5:17).
Jesus said, ““If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:15-18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
God has sent the help needed to empower each of us to walk in His righteousness, and to teach, lead, and change us into a new Christ-like people, transformed by the renewing of our minds (ROMANS 12:1-2).
God’s gift of life is available to all who believe.
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:16-26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Welcome Jesus into your life, ask Him to make you a new person, ask Him to start His good work within you. And I am certain that God who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day Christ Jesus returns (PHILIPPIANS 1:6).
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
