Therefore My Heart Is Glad, My Tongue Rejoices, My Body Will Also Rest Secure

The Hope of The Faith And The Messiah's Victory

PSALM 16:8-11
“I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16:8-11‬ ‭NKJV‬

David stood firm in the presence of the Lord, for He knew that God was always with him and that knew that He would never forsake him.
Therefore , whatever life threw at David, he was able to restore his peace.
Here, David speaks of his confident hope in God, that even in Sheol (death) he will have peace, for God will show him the path to life.
He said, “Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.
Today every believer, can like David, stand firm in the assurance of Christ Jesus, that whatever life throws at us, it is temporary and shall soon pass.
The truth is, we have a wonderful eternal future to look forward to.
Meanwhile, we believers can be strong and courageous as we face the trials and challenges of everyday life. And by the way, God never promised a trouble free life or great financial riches here in this world.
In deed, James tells us, “when you have troubles, not “if” we have troubles (JAMES 1:2-3). But He does promise to meet all our needs and lead us into victory (1 CORINTHIANS 15:57).
“And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.””
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My brethren, Jesus is the One who went before you; paying your debt of sin, making a way for your eternal future. He is the One that goes with you through every trial you shall face. He will not leave you nor forsake you, and He is the One who gives you the victory. All you need do is believe, what ever fire you go in, you shall come out refreshed, not even smelling of smoke (DANIEL 3:27).
I encourage you, whatever troubles or situations you are facing, God uses them for good. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
What ever your needs, whatever your situation, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:4-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Today, our world is witnessing troubles like never before and our faith is being tested to the limits.
Loss of businesses and jobs, financial ruin and poverty; increasing inflation, extreme price increases on our every day needs, fuel, groceries, and heating cost. Furthermore, we are seeing widespread violence and demonstrations and so much more including the fret of world war 111.
But I encourage you, God will use all these things for good.
Meanwhile, like David, stand firm in the presence of the Lord. This is temporary, and it shall pass, and He will provide the way forward whatever troubles come upon us and lead His people into the victory.
Jesus said, “Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:30-34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Truly I tell you, ““Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:7-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, today, speak out the blessings of hope and victory in this psalm over yourself; restore your hope and receive the victory through Christ who is our strength.
“Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust. O my soul, you have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.” As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.” Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips. O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance. I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16‬:‭1‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
