PSALM 28:7-8
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him. The Lord is their strength, And He is the saving refuge of His anointed.

V
We often run to God out of desperation when we face troubles that we can’t overcome ourselves. But David sought God’s guidance every day (27:7). When troubles came upon Him, He was already in the presence of God, prepared and ready to face anything this world could throw at him
As believers we can call upon God’s help at any time. But surely it is wise and respectful to be close to God all the time.
Is it not shortsighted to call upon God only when troubles come your way? Many of our troubles could of been avoided or handled much easier if only we had been in God’s presence, praising Him, seeking His direction and His help in the first place.
One’s relationship with our Father in heaven should be personal and every day, not just on Sunday in church or when troubles come your way.
We believers are called to serve, not just assemble once a week and are gifted to do so for the edification of the church (1 CORINTHIANS 12:4-11).
Jesus said , “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
Matthew 10:5-8 NKJV
Make time to serve and speak to Him in prayer every day and show Him how your love for Him is genuine; after all, He is our Heavenly Dad.
He has already showed that His love for you is genuine by His choice to pay the wages of the sin of the world on a cross (JOHN 3:16).
He is the saving refuge of His anointed. This term acknowledges God’s covenant with David; His promise that He is David’s God, His strength, and His shield, and that David is His representative.
I encourage you, whatever struggles you are facing, it is never too late to ask God for help. But you, like David can be His anointed.
Make God the centre of your life, seek His will and allow Him to lead you into victory through Christ who is your strength. And like David, you will be ready to take on the Goliath’s in your life at any time.
In these last days, persecution is growing , churches, are closing and because of the lack of assembly and fellowship, many have slipped back from God.
But today the Lord is reaching out to you all with this message. ““Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.”
Joel 2:12-13 NKJV
God told the people through Joel to turn to Him while there was still time and the people showed deep remorse by tearing at their clothes.
My beloved, time is running out for us today; Jesus is soon to return to bring judgement upon this world.
God does not want an outward display of penitence without true deep repentance (1 SAMUEL 16:7; MATHEW 23:1-36).
Now is the time get serious with God; ones attitude toward God must be right, theirs no time for half-hearted worship; furthermore, your deep heart intent must match one’s outward actions.
Theirs no point tearing at your clothes if your heart isn’t fully in it.
You can only truly know Jesus through relationship, and that can only come through quality time spent with Him in prayer and by taking in His Word. His Word is the “bread of life (JOHN 6:35).
Jesus told us, “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
Matthew 7:22-23 NKJV
My beloved, of course He knows us all; He created us, but if one cannot be bothered to make time to know Him today, He will not make time know that one when the end comes.
We all have a choice; it’s heaven or hell forever; forever is a very long time.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
