Therefore, Accept Each Other Just As Christ Has Accepted You So That God Will Be Given Glory

God Is Faithful

ROMANS 15:7-13
“Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. Now I say that Jesus Christ has become a servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers, and that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written: “For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, And sing to Your name.” And again he says: “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people!” And again: “Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!” And again, Isaiah says: “There shall be a root of Jesse; And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, In Him the Gentiles shall hope.” Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Paul quotes from all three divisions of the Old Testament, the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms, as well as three great Jewish leaders, Moses, David the son of Jesse, and Isaiah to demonstrate that God’s plans always included blessing the Gentiles.
The truth is, it was God’s plan from the very beginning; He wants no one to perish, (Jews and Gentiles alike), but for all to turn to Him in repentance (2 PETER 3:9).
Good Christian fellowship is very important for the purpose of encouraging and edifying one another, bringing out the good in a person by good decisions and an actions.
That doesn’t mean pretend everything is fine as many Christians do, but rather maintaining the peace and joy that comes from one’s faith, by completely trusting God in every aspect of our lives.
Paul suggest several areas where we can help; that regardless of one’s history, we must accept other believers into our lives and ministries, being ready to work with them by the leading of the Spirit, building and encouraging one another; by using our spiritual gifts for God’s glory (12:3-9); by treating others with love not hypocrisy (12:10-21); by submission to governing authorities without compromising our faith, working in obedience with leaders in godly ways (13:1-7); to live ethically and morally correct, as did Christ (13:8-14); to make others needs as important as one’s own-when necessary, putting others first (14:1-23); to bear one another’s burdens (15:1-6); and work with others for God’s glory (15:7-13).
But the truth is, whatever we do, we must do by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Giving foolishly will not only steal one’s peace, protection, and provision, it may even undermine God’s work in others. Operating in the flesh will take us in the wrong direction, bring upon ourselves temptation that we cannot handle, and may even open doors to the devil to operate in our lives.
Paul, throughout Romans, continually emphasised that one’s faith must impact his or her behaviour. The truth Jesus teaches must propel people into living out the Christian faith.
All Spirit filled believers have the choice-to walk in the Spirit, or by the leading of the flesh. If one isn’t Spirit filled, he or she does not know Christ and remains of the world.
But Jesus said, ““If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:15-18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭1:21-22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
For “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:13-14‬ NKJV
God is faithful to keep His promises, but He doesn’t take away one’s choices.
To walk by the flesh is to continue in our old sinful, selfish ways, and will lead us to total destruction. But by walking in the Spirit we shall become productive in ministry and God’s peace will remain with us through every situation. The truth is, the victory is already ours through Christ who is our strength (1 CORINTHIANS 15:57).
. “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:16-26‬ ‭NKJV‬
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
