1 CORINTHIANS 6:18-20
“Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
”I Corinthians 6:18-20 NKJV

Sexual sin is probably one of the most difficult to overcome, and yet it is more damaging than any other sin because it is sin against one’s own body.
Jesus died to buy you freedom from the penalty of sin, freedom to be all you can for God, but you are not free from God or to continue in sin; that would simply open the door to Satan and let him in.
God does not share, you have to make the choice between God’s kingdom and the world.
Jesus said, ““No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
Matthew 6:24 NKJV
God doesn't have a problem with sexual relations, He created it to be a beautiful and essential ingredient of marriage; but sexual relations outside of marriage is sin, and always results in hurt.
It hurts God because it shows we prefer following our own desires instead of the leading of the Holy Spirit. It hurts others because it violates the commitment so necessary to a relationship.
Sexual immorality often leads to disease and unwanted pregnancies, and it deeply affects our personalities, which responds in anguish when we harm ourselves physically and spiritually.
Many say, we have the right to do what we like with our bodies, they think that is freedom; but actually, they are enslaved to their own sinful desires.
Paul said, "You belong to God. You don't belong to yourself, for God bought you for a high price.
“Jesus certainly paid a high price; He gave His life to purchase yours. When we become Christians, we commit our lives to God, and the Holy Spirit comes to live within in us to help and leads us in righteousness (JOHN 14:15-18).
Therefore we no longer own our bodies, our bodies become the temple of the living God.
God bought us "with a high price" refers to slaves purchased at an auction. Christ death freed us from the powers of sin, and obligated us to His service.
Since God owns the very body you live in, you must not violate His rules or standards for living.
My brethren, if you are struggling with lust, follow Paul’s instruction; “But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am; but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.”
I Corinthians 7:8-9 NKJV
But once married, one must follow the commands that Paul tells us regarding marriage: “Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. But I say this as a concession, not as a commandment. For I wish that all men were even as I myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one in this manner and another in that.”
I Corinthians 7:1-7 NKJV
My brethren, many Christian marriages fail because of issues within sexual relations. The devil is never far away with negative whispers that bring division.
But I tell you the truth, if couples remains obedient to the instruction given in God’s Word, their marriages would not fail. But it does take two. Intimacy is key to a successful marriage.
When it comes to sexual relations within marriage, because of sexual immorality, we must not deprive our spouse; to do so may be throwing them under a bus into the devil’s hand. That is why God has given all authority over your body to your spouse.
If your spouse is hungry, feed him or her with the desired food and satisfy.
The devil and his army are never far away and are very happy to step in and feed your spouse and drag him or her down the slippery slope of sexual immorality into the pit.
But however, this is not an excuse to be demanding, we must not use God’s Word to manipulate, but rather as an instruction to live Godly lives.
My brethren, use your body to honour God; He paid a high price for you, your body is not your own, it is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit.
All glory to god forever and ever! Amen.
