Blessed Is The One Who Endures Trials

Sin Is A Choice

JAMES 1:12-15
“Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
”‭‭James‬ ‭1:12-15‬ ‭NKJV‬

The crown of life is not glory here on earth, but rather the reward of eternal life. It is like a victory wreath given to winning athletes.
Here on earth, athletes run a race to receive a perishable (tempory) crown, but for those in the race for eternal life, the winners crown is imperishable (1 CORINTHIANS 9:25).
Many believe that God is the one who tempts us, but the truth is, temptation comes from within ourselves.
It begins with a single thought and becomes sin when we give in to it and turn it in to an action.
Sin, like a snow ball, becomes bigger and more destructive as it picks up pace, as if it is running down a steep hill.
If we continue in a particular sin, it becomes more and more acceptable to us as if it’s not sin at all.
The worlds moral standards may of deteriorated, but God’s haven’t. The world may say, “we must move on in this changing world, but however it God’s opinion that counts, and sin is sin however much man tries to justify it.
But the truth is, sin, however we see it, will become more and more destructive to us and can lead us to our eternal death.
When we indulge in sin, we come in agreement with the devil and let him and his evil spirits and demons into our lives to drag us into the darkness even more.
Sin separates us from God, and allows the devil in to areas of our life and we can become demonised or possessed (MATHEW 8:16).
Many believe that a Christian cannot be possessed; they say possession is ownership, and the devil owns no one. But our bodies are simply vessels for us to live in, to get around, and operate in this physical world.
If squatters enter your home they don’t automatically own it; the real owner still has his name on the deeds and still owns the property; even so, he will need a court order to evict them.
In the same way, unclean spirits and demons enter our bodies because we opened the door when we indulge in sin, for we come into agreement with the devil and give him authority to enter; therefore we need Jesus Christ the ultimate judge to issue the eviction notice when we repent and turn back toward God and regain the authority to evict them.
Even more disturbing, the devil has demonised many because of the sin of their ancestors. Many come into the world with generational curses that come from their ancestors.
Thank God He gave us authority over these devil’s to cast them out in Jesus name (LUKE 10:17).
Maybe you are hearing voices from within, or are victim to nightmares, or are caught up in addiction, or wrong repetitive actions that you don’t want to do, or are suffering with poor health, anxiety/ depression, or having suicidal thoughts; if so, you most likely need deliverance and should seek a ministry operating in deliverance and get set free.
The best way to stop temptation is to nip it the bud by avoiding people, places, and situations that are likely to give you trouble.
If allowed, temptation will gain momentum and will become to fast and powerful to control and repentance will become pretty much impossible.
We often try to justify sin by making excuses or blaming others for our evil thoughts and actions.
We use excuses like, she made me do it, just like Adam (GENESIS 3:12), I couldn’t help it, everyone does it, it was a mistake, the devil made me do it, I was desperate, and many more. But the truth is, the devil can tempt you, people can tempt you, and situations can tempt you, but it is your personal choice whether to indulge or not. Furthermore, no one who wilfully continues in sin will see the Kingdom of God (GALATIANS 5:19:21).
The way to be in God’s winners circle is by loving Him and staying faithful even when under pressure, by listening and being obedient to the guidance of His Word and the Holy Spirit who leads in all truth (JOHN 16:13).
We will all make mistakes, for we are sinners and to say we are not is calling God a liar (1 JOHN 1:10).
So when we do slip into sin, we must take responsibility for our actions and repent.
Repentance is far more than simply saying sorry; repentance is submitting to God, turning around from wrong doing toward God, for His way is the only way.
James said, ”Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.“
‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Like squatters, the demonic are unlikely to give up their home without a fight; they must be firmly commanded to “come out.”
Jesus gave us the perfect example when He delivered a man from many demons; He commanded them out, but they was reluctant to leave. Then, asking them their name, they answered “Legion” because they were many,” He commanding out by name and they come out (LUKE 8:29-30).
Furthermore, having successfully evicting such demons, one must keep them out.
Jesus said, ”“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”“
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12‬:‭43‬-‭45‬ ‭NKJV‬
It is encouraging to know that God does not allow temptation to be more than he can stand” No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.“
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Furthermore, God will even help you through it all, “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬
God uses our trials, challenges, and temptations to change the way we think, to build and test us, that we become Christ like in our nature, transformed, by the renewing of our minds, that we come to understand what is that good, and acceptable, and the perfect will of God (ROMANS 12:1-2).
Therefore, ”My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.“
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
