Do Not Lay Up For Yourself Treasures On Earth
MATHEW 19:23-26
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

The disciples thought if anyone could be saved, it would be the rich. It appears the rich are most wise and successful, and their riches gives them status and brings about respect from others. But Jesus pointed out that it would be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to be saved.
The truth is, it is impossible for anyone to be saved without Christ because we are all sinners in need of a Saviour, even more difficult for the rich, for many have learned to rely on their riches and status to get their own way, and fail to recognise that God is the source of all provision.
As employers, many put themselves above their employees, believing they are above others and fail to recognise that Christ is above all. Many see themselves as the source of provision rather than God.
“Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
I Timothy 6:6-10 NKJV
Thank God for Jesus Christ, for He has done what was impossible for man; He died on a cross paying the debt of sin for all mankind, and then on the third day, He was risen, defeating death itself, giving everyone the confident hope of a wonderful eternal future with God. It’s not a difficult process, their are no unreasonable rules or conditions.
Salvation is not purchasable, no amount of money or good deeds can buy one’s way into God’s kingdom. The truth is, all one needs do is believe, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.””

Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

The Good News is, your new life in Christ starts the very moment you repent of all sin and commit your life to Jesus.
I encourage you, whatever situation you are facing, however impossible it may seem, God will make a way where there’s no way (ISAIAH 43:19), for nothing is impossible with God.
My beloved, that includes your impossible situation however you got into it. Maybe it won’t turn out as you hoped, but God’s way will bring a long-term fixes that will lead to life everlasting. By His grace, He will victoriously get you through it. (1 CORINTHIANS 15:57).
But one must believe on Christ and live with his hands wide open, for God gives and takes away, not for any reason except ones own good.
Blessings and riches on this earth are very much temporary and give a false sense of security and can fill people with pride.
But with Christ and nothing else on this earth, one is more than a millionaire through God’s given peace that surpasses all understanding and will guard his heart and mind through Christ (PHILIPPIANS 4:4-7). The
Therefore, ““Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV
