Live A Life Worthy Of The Calling You Have Received
We Are One Body In Christ
EPHESIANS 4:1-6
“I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Paul challenges us to live our lives worthy of the calling we have received. That includes being humble, gentle, patient, understanding and peaceful. But the truth is no one is ever going to be perfect in this world today, so we must accept and love our brothers and sisters in Christ regardless of their faults and failures.
When we see faults in our fellow believers, we should be patient and gentle-loving them without expectation, and praying for them.
As one body, we must encourage, support, and edifying one another (1 THESSALONIANS 5:11).
Unity does not simply just happen, we have to work at it. All to often differences among believers brings division, but the truth is, this should not happen within the church, after all, there is but one God, and one Spirit, and one baptism for all living in Christ. We are all a part of the same body of which Christ is the head, and all have an individual calling (1 CORINTHIANS 12:27-31). There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
I Corinthians 12:4-11 NKJV
Building unity is one of the roles of the Holy Spirit-He leads us all. But we must be willing to listen and cooperate with Him. We are not necessarily going to understand other people’s gifts and callings, but that doesn’t make them wrong, so unity will only come when we focus on God, not ourselves, and love one another.
“But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.””
I Peter 4:7-8 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen
