God has sent His Holy Spirit to empower His people as they live their daily lives in service to God, to evangelising, sharing the Good News and operating in spiritual gifts.
“Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
I Corinthians 12:3-11 NKJV
Jesus had instructed His disciples back then, and all believers today, to witness to the people of all nations (MATHEW 28:19-20). Back then, they were told to wait for the Holy Spirit (LUKE 24:49), but today, all who have been baptised by water, and of the Spirit are filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered to do God’s work. Furthermore, the Holy Spirit is our guarantee of salvation (2 CORINTHIANS 1:22; EPHESIANS 1:14).
The Good News has been spread in a series of ever widening circles, geographically, from Jerusalem, into Judea and Samaria, and now to all the ends of earth. It begun with the devout Jews in Jerusalem and Samaria, and even spread to the mixed race in Samria, and finally to the Gentiles all over the world.
Jesus said, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”
Matthew 24:14 NKJV
My beloved, we still have work to do. So get out there and share God’s truth.
If someone in your house hold, workplace, school, or your community hasn’t heard the Good News, be sure to tell them. Get the job done, then the end will come.
Make sure that you contribute in one way or another to the ever-widening circle of God’s wonderful message of salvation.
The truth is, It is more than Good News, it is amazingly wonderful Good News.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
