If God Is For Us Who Could Be Against Us

You Are Who God Says You Are

ROMANS 8:31-34
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
”‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:31-34‬ ‭NKJV‬

Paul tells us that Jesus is pleading for us in heaven, and having paid our debt of sin, has acquitted us and removed our sin and guilt. Therefore, surely it is Satan who accuses us, not God.
The devil is never far away to whisper negativity into one’s heart. He brings condemnation through people, dreams, and whispers into our emotions, our very soul. His purpose is to steal and to kill and to destroy, but Christ came to give you life, and that you may have more abundantly (JOHN 10:10).
Emotions were never meant as a tool of discernment, but the devil uses them to convince us of his lies.
My beloved, you are not what he says you are, you are what God says you are; a child of God redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ.
The next time the devil puts you down, reminding you of sinful past, or your faults and failures, remind him of his future and tell yourself that “I am a child of God redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, and I am safe in His hands.”
We can can speak out these words because we Spirit filled believers who have given ourselves to God are safe in Jesus hands. “Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭1:21-22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
However, many believers submit to the devil’s lies and allow doubt to enter their minds and focus their thoughts on their failings, and we will all have them.
We are still imperfect humans and still make mistakes, sometimes slipping back into sin. As a result, many think they simply are not good enough.
But the the truth is, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
The devil is very good at whispering negative message and condemnation to discourage us; He will try to convince you that salvation is for everyone else except you.
But these verses encourage us all. If God gave His only begotten Son to save you, He most certainly won’t hold back the gift of salvation. If Christ gave His life for you, He won’t hold back anything you need to live for Him. Furthermore, Jesus was risen, He defeated death itself, and through Him we Spirit filled believers are also risen-born again into resurrection life, God’s family, to live with Him forever (REVELATION 21:3-4).
No wonder Jesus said, “Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:7‬ ‭NKJV‬
That is to say, death to one’s old sinful self, to be “Born Again” into God’s family and resurrection life.
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:1-14‬ ‭NKJV
Not one of us is good enough, we have all sinned and deserve the death penalty. But Christ took it upon Himself to your place and mine on a cross and paid our debt of sin, that we might live.
Your money can’t pay your debt of sin, nor can your good deeds or church attendance undo one’s sinful past. But the truth is, there is no debt nor guilt, for it has been washed away by the blood of the Lamb-Jesus Christ who was the ultimate sacrifice.
He said , “It is finished (JOHN 19:28-30)”.
It is simply by God’s grace, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
The book of Romans is by far more than a theological explanation of God’s redeeming grace, it is a letter of comfort and confidence to every believer.
My brethren, again I say it, the next time the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future and be at peace because Jesus paid it all.
Isaiah’s words say it all.
“Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭1‬-‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
