I Am Sure What We Suffer Now Cannot Compare With The Glory That Will Be Shown To Us

We Have The First Instalment, But The Best Is Yet To Come

ROMANS 8:18-25
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

We Spirit filled believers see the world as it is, physically decaying and spiritually infected with sin. Never before has there been such a time as this. Manufactured pestilence, compulsory jabs, restrictions, and unreasonable controls were placed upon the people.
We see terrorism and frets of war, and instability world wide.
The world financial systems are collapsing, businesses are closing, and poverty is rising.
We see sexual immorality as in the days of Lot and worse.
Furthermore, fear is hovering over the world and many are falling under the weight of depression and suicide.
Sin has caused all creation to fall from the perfect state in which God created it.
The world is in bondage to death and decay and cannot fulfil its intended purpose.
But we believers do not need to be pessimistic because we have the confident hope of God’s future glory; that one day all creation will be liberated and transformed. Until that time we wait in eager expectation for the resurrection of God's children knowing that no testing's will be more than we can stand (1 CORINTHIANS 10:13).
We can look forward to a new heaven and earth that God has promised, and the new order that will free the world from sin, sickness, and all evil.
Meanwhile, we believers can go forward with Christ into the world, healing people's bodies and souls, brining true deliverance from the chains of the devil as we fight the evil effects of sin in this world today (MATHEW 10:8).
It is true we have seen a rise in the evil demonic powers that hold this world in bondage through corrupt governments and leaders, but even more, we shall all become witness to God’s power and glory as He reaches out to His chosen people in truth and justice as we approach the glorious coming day of the Lord.
For now is the time of justice, as God restores our lands back to the hands of the righteous (JEOL 2:18:37).
“”And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.”
‭‭Joel‬ ‭2‬:‭28‬-‭32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, our new year will be by no means easy, but we can all be encouraged by the fact that the day is approaching when God’s people shall be resurrected with glorified bodies like the body Christ now has in heaven (see 1 CORINTHIANS 15:25-58).
We have the first instalment, the foretaste or down payment of future glory, the Holy Spirit, as a guarantee of our resurrection life (see 2 CORINTHIANS 1:22; 5:5; EPHESIANS 1:14).
My brethren, children naturally trust their parents, even though parents sometimes fail to keep their promises. But our Heavenly Father never makes promises that He cannot or will not keep.
However, His plan may take more time than we expect. The truth is, it is going to get even more uncomfortable, but we can be sure of the ultimate victory we all have in Christ.
We can be sure regardless of what is happening in this broken world of today, of a wonderful new heaven and earth, and our new bodies, rest and rewards, our eternal family and home, the absence of sin and suffering, and being forever face to face with Jesus (REVELATION 21:3-4).
Now that's a future well worth waiting for.
But rather than acting like impatient children, be calm and obedient.
As we wait for God's will to unfold, we believers need to work with the Lord how He wants, rather than for the Lord in a way we think we ought, and to be patient and have confidence in God's perfect timing.
In Romans, Paul presents the idea that salvation is past, present, and future.
It is past because we were saved in the very moment we believed in Jesus Christ as our Saviour (3:21-26; 5:1-11; 6:1-11,22-23).
Our new eternal life begins in that very moment.
It is present because we are being systematically saved; this is the process of sanctification.
But we have not yet fully received all the benefits and blessings of salvation that will be ours when Christ’ new Kingdom is completely established. That is our future salvation.
While we can be confident of our salvation, we still look ahead with hope and trust toward that complete change of body and personality that lies beyond this life, when we will be like Christ.
“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”
‭‭I John‬ ‭3:2-3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, life isn’t easy as a believer in this failing world, and many face all kinds of torment, pain, and trials, but I encourage you all, that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us.
“Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter. For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? Now “If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?” Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.”
‭‭I Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬-‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
