LUKE 6:37-38
“”Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

V
Forgiveness isn't always easy, but it is essential if you are to be apart of the Kingdom of God.
The first thing to remember is that we are all all sinners and are in need of a Saviour. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”
I John 1:8-10 NKJV
However small our sin, it carries the curse of death (see 1 CORINTHIANS 15:56), For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (ROMANS 6:23).
Since we are all sinners, we all need God’s forgiveness-we are all in the same boat. But unless we forgive, we cannot be forgiven and eternal death awaits us; For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Matthew 6:14-15 NKJV
A forgiving spirit demonstrates that a person has received God's love.
My beloved, “Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.”
I John 4:17-19 NKJV
God’s kind of love is selfless and unconditional and does not hold a grudge. “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
I Corinthians 13:4-7 NKJV
This is God’s kind of love, but If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.”
I John 4:20-21 NKJV
Jesus used the picture of measuring grain in a basket to ensure the full amount. If we choose to be critical rather than compassionate, we will also receive criticism. If however, we treat others generously, graciously, and compassionately, these qualities will come back to us in full measure, in fact, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. But God is a God of justice, and by the same measure that we believers judge others, so God will judge us.
When a Spirit filled believer falls into sin, God does not bring judgment, but rather convicts him by the leading of the Spirit to come to repentance and turn toward Him.
By that example, we must bring loving discipline by the leading of the Spirit to our brothers and sisters in Christ who have slipped back. Just as Christ brings no condemnation to those in Christ (ROMANS 8:1), so we must not condemn those who fall.
Furthermore, we should be mindful that we believers are all individual parts of one body, of which Christ is the head, and we must all take our place accordingly and actively serve according to our calling, and being mindful that our behaviours affect not only ourselves, but the whole body. “And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.”
I Corinthians 12:26 NKJV
My beloved, we believers all fall into at least one of the five categories of Jesus’ five fold ministry. “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”
Ephesians 4:11-16 NKJV
Love is the foundation of Jesus’ way of living; He said You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.””
Matthew 22:37-40 NKJV
If only everyone could remain obedient to these two great commandments, this world would soon become a better place to live.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
