No one can avoid the stresses and strife of every day life with all that is going on around us in this ever darkening world.
But when our mind is fixed on God and His faithfulness, we can remain at peace throughout any situation at all.
Many put their trust in money, status, or their careers, others in people, their friends and family. But true inner peace can only come from a settled, established, and continuous relationship with God.
My beloved, everything of this world is temporary.
“As he came from his mother’s womb, naked shall he return, To go as he came; And he shall take nothing from his labor Which he may carry away in his hand. And this also is a severe evil— Just exactly as he came, so shall he go. And what profit has he who has labored for the wind?”
Ecclesiastes 5:15-16 NKJV
Hope can only come from a good established relationship with Christ, for He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:6 NKJV
How can you trust anyone you don’t know?
Both people and money will in time always let you down one way or another, but as you come to know Christ more, you will come to understand He is trustworthy and true to His word; He will never leave you or forsake you (DEUTERONOMY 31:6) and He shall reign forever.
Furthermore, one must come to understand our sinfulness and deep need for a redeemer before he or she can find real peace.
Only when one is at peace with God can he or she ever have true peace in this failing world.
Only a mind that stays fully focused and settled in God can tolerate the ever changing circumstances of everyday life.
Paul gives us some good advice; He said, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:4-7 NKJV
You can have extreme amounts of money, the highest status and lifestyle, the biggest house or most prestigious car, but the truth is, true joy and contentment comes from peace of mind. But real lasting peace can only come from Jesus Christ our redeemer and Saviour.
Of course, we all have times when it feels like God has abandoned us; like we are in the fire alone.
But God is never far away, in fact He is in the fire with you keeping you safe (ISAIAH 43:2).
But His plans are long-term, not temporary and for all people with ears to listen. He wants no one to perish, but for all to come to Him in repentance (2 PETER 3:9). Therefore, timing is an essential part of God’s plan. His timing doesn’t usually fall in line with human timing, so patience is needed throughout every trial we face.
James said, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
James 1:2-4 NKJV
God is working endlessly for His people, with salvation as His number one goal. “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
I Peter 5:6-11 NKJV
My beloved, “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:28-31 NKJV
If you haven’t already, get to know Jesus; go into your room, shut the door and call out to Him. He is waiting for your call.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
