Whatever You Do Or Say, Do It As A Representative Of The Lord Jesus

Set The Foundations And Serve In Unity

COLOSSIANS 3:12-17
“Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Paul gives us a strategy to follow that will help us live our lives for Christ each day in unity and peace with one another; to imitate God’s compassionate, forgiving attitude toward one another, to put on love-to allow love to guide our lives, and to allow peace to rule our hearts individually and as one body; to learn and keep God’s word in us at all times, and to live as Christ representatives in unity with one another, giving thanks to God the Father through Christ Jesus.
But first we must set the foundations, repenting of all sin and forgiving all who wronged us.
Forgiveness is not always easy, but is paramount to one’s salvation; “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses ( MATHEW 6:14-15).”
My brethren, regardless how you have suffered at the hands of another, you must forgive. To hold a grudge however big or small will steal your salvation.
But the truth is, in the very moment you make the decision to forgive, you are no longer the victim, but the victor.
Through forgiveness you break every chain that connects you to your aggressor; you are free to walk away and live peacefully and you open the door that allows our Father in heaven to forgive you.
Forgiveness, does not mean that you must like or socialise with the aggressor; nor does it mean you must allow the abuse to continue. But what it does mean is that you do not seek revenge for your hurt; you have written of the debt, just as Christ has written of the debt of the world.
The key to forgiveness is to look at your own mistakes and wrongdoings, remembering how much God has forgiven you. We are all in the same boat-we are all sinners in need of a Saviour.
Realising God’s infinite love and forgiveness can help us to love and forgive others.
Don’t allow the enemy to control your emotions and your decisions to prevent forgiveness with little whispers of hate; but rather, make a firm decision to forgive and then ask God to empower your emotions to catch up with your decision.
Once you have decided to forgive and spoken that out to God in prayer, He is faithful to forgive and help you go forward in His love.
Confession and forgiveness break the chains of the enemy; once a wrong doing is confessed, the devil cannot hold it over you, and once you have forgiven, he cannot use your situation to bring division.
Don’t quench the Holy Spirit in you by fuelling hatred, anger, and discontent, but rather, let God settle the wrongs you have suffered and live life in love, joy, and peace, and in everything you do in word or deed, do in the name of Jesus for His glory.
My beloved, every Spirit filled believer is an individual part of Christ’ body and has a part to play as instructed by the head.
The leg does not instruct the foot, nor the eye the hand, but rather the whole body is led by the head, Jesus Christ.
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬-‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Every member falls into at least one of the five categories of Christ’ ministry, and not one part is above another, for there is but one head who reigns above all.
. “Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭3‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Jesus way is the only way to unity within the body. For He the way, the truth, and the life, and the only way to our Father in heaven (JOHN 14:6).
My beloved, this is Jesus time, and as in the first miracle of Christ, the new wine is here (JOHN 2:1-11).
The old man’s church is currently fading away as Christ builds His church His way (JOHN 2:19-21).
Yet my beloved, many are trying to hold on to the old.
Jesus “spoke a parable to them: “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one; otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved. And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.’ ””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭5‬:‭36‬-‭39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
But it’s time to let go of the old, for Jesus saved the best until last (JOHN 2:10).
My beloved, If it’s not Christ five fold ministry, it shall profit you nothing, for anyone operating outside the body is not representing Christ.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
