PSALM 37:1-5
“Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

We Spirit filled believers should not envy evil people of this world, even though many seem successful, rich, and popular.
No matter how high a pedestal they stand on, or how much they have, it will all fade away and vanish like grass that withers and dies.
Whatever an unbeliever has on this earth may last a lifetime, but those who follow Christ, inherit treasures in heaven that shall last forever; the truth is, the best is yet to come.
Trust in the Lord and do good.
God wants us believers to be dependent on Him; He wants us to trust Him in every part of our lives.
When we really trust God in everything it lifts a massive weight of our shoulders, and frees us to be joyful and stress free and to live safely in the land, giving us the desire and time to joyfully reach out to help others.
Whatever troubles you are facing today, start your day in prayer, give your worries to God, cooperate with Him fully and allow Him to deal with them.
But even in your troubles, ask Him, “Who can I help today?"
Reach out and help those who God has put on your heart to help, and God will move the right people to reach out to help you; the right people that are gifted to help you in your circumstance.
He is the head and His people are the body-the body of Christ, and must remain in their individual place within the body, not being envious of others calling or gifts, operating within the five fold ministry, of which every member shall fall into at least one of five categories. “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”
Ephesians 4:11-16 NKJV
No “body” can operate smoothly without instruction and obedience from and to the head.
But when the whole body operates in obedience, the body shall become unified and healed, and shall operate smoothly like a well oiled machine, restoring peace, joy, and contentment throughout the whole body through Christ who is the head.
My beloved, Jesus paid the ultimate price for you and all people on a cross. “He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:3-5 NKJV
There is so much joy in helping others, and as we reach out to each other, helping one another and working with one another in service for Christ, so our love for each other shall grow in perfect unity.
“And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.”
I Corinthians 12:26-31 NKJV
David tells us to take delight in the Lord and to commit everything we have and do to him.
To delight in someone means to experience great pleasure and joy in his or her presence. This happens only when you know that person well.
If you are going to delight in the Lord, you must start by knowing Him well.
By regular study of God's Word, knowledge and understanding of His love, and by prayer and quality time spent in His presence, relationship will develop and grow giving us peace, joy, and contentment in Christ as we realise and experience His perfect love.
How could one not delight in His love, His presence, and His holiness?
To commit ourselves to the Lord, means entrusting everything in our lives, our families, jobs, possessions to God, and be ready to serve God in any way that He chooses; believing that He can care for us better than we can care for ourselves.
We should wait patiently for Him to bring about what is best for us (37:7).
When we do everything God's way, according to His perfect plans and timing, reaching out to each other, helping each other, God will certainly do and provide all that we need to achieve our heart desires; “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.”
Philippians 2:13 NLT
Yet, God is a God of love, and whilst He calls us for His plans and purposes, He knows exactly what pleases us and acts accordingly to give us the individual desires of our hearts. Not desires that would drag us back into sin, or desires we are not ready to handle, but desires that bring productivity, joy, peace, and contentment into our lives in this crooked world as we wait patiently for His return.
My brethren, we are living in a very dark world, full of corruption and wickedness. But whatever is going on around you, “Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.”
Psalms 37:1-5 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
