Trust In The Lord And Do Good

PSALM 37:3-5
“Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

David tells us to trust in the Lord and do good, dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness. That is to say, live right and trust God with that mountain you are facing, and at the same time, reach out to someone in need.
It means, when the Holy Spirit leads you, give to the needy, and help them using the the gifts appointed to you to help and edify others, even when you are facing all kinds of challenges yourself.
It means, love your neighbour as yourself, making others problems as important as your own. It means helping others simply because God put it on your heart to do so regardless of your own situation.
We are all individual parts of one body in Christ, who is the head, and are individually gifted to help and edify the whole body in love (1 CORINTHIANS 12); that is every individual within the body of Christ.
Therefore, when instructed by the head, Jesus Christ who sees all things, reach out to those God gifted you to help, and He will send those appropriately gifted to help you in your needs.
In this, the whole body shall be edified and lifted up in love and unity.
To feed of His faithfulness, is to keep reminding yourself of what Christ has done and is doing for you as an individual, and all humanity.
As you take in the extremities of what Christ is doing and has done for His people, your faith shall increase and you shall say to that mountain move and it shall move (MATHEW 17:20).
When we believers put into practice this simple instruction that really goes against our human nature; you reach out to a brother or sister in Christ, or even a non-believer, making their needs as important as our own, God will respond by sending the right help that you need through others, gifted to meet your needs.
It is then we find ourselves reaching out to one another in love, using the spiritual gifts individually appointed to us,edifying one another (1 CORINTHIANS 12:8-10, and undoing the devil’s work that holds people captive in their situations, such as poverty or sickness, addiction or depression, and we, God’s people live safely in the land to serve our Lord and Saviour within His ministry (EPHESIANS 4:11).
Our relationships with one another will grow in loving care and we shall feel good about ourselves, for it always feels good to know we have been able to help a brother or sister in need, or draw a none-believer to Christ, and we get to bless and glorify our Father in heaven.
David continues to say, “delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. That is not the desires of your sinful past-money, status, sexual immortality, drunkenness, and things such as these. Indeed, those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God (GALATIANS 5:19-21).
But rather Godly desires of the Holy Spirit.
That can be both spiritual and physical desires.
We all like nice things, whether a house, a car, or comforts, and God wants to give us the desires of our hearts, but not with things that shall in time cause one to fall.
He gives only what one can handle, but as one increases, so God shall increase the blessings. His ways are always productive and produce fruits.
Therefore, whatever God blesses us with, we are to use wisely and productively for His glory.
Delight yourself in God’s presence; experience the joy and great pleasure that comes from your relationship with Christ. Commit to His ways, trusting Him always. “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Then you shall be successful and victorious through Christ who is your strength (PHILIPPIANS 4:13).
Furthermore, peace, contentment, and joy will be upon you always, even in the most challenging of trials and tribulations.
God’s peace shall be upon you that surpasses all understanding, and it will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (PHILIPPIANS 4:7).
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
