I Give Them Eternal Life, And They Will Never Perish

Jesus Faced The Pain Of The Cross For You

JOHN 10:28-30
“And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.”
”‭‭John‬ ‭10:28-30‬ ‭NKJV‬

Just as a shepherd protects his sheep, Jesus protects His people from eternal harm. We are in a war zone, but not so much with people, but rather with evil spirits and demons who use people for their satanic agendas. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
‭‭Ephesians 6:12NKJV
Therefore we believers can expect to suffer on earth; Satan will do anything he can to stop us spreading the Good News and grow in Christ; he will attack us in any which way he can, whether financially, through our health, our relationships, and all kind of temptations, addictions, lies and false teachings; His purpose is to steal, and to kill, and to destroy, and he is good at it.
But Jesus suffered for His people, He came that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (JOHN 10:10).
Therefore, since Christ suffered for His people, His people can expect to suffer for Him as they preach the Good News of salvation.
However, even though the battle is often within our souls (our minds, will, and emotions), Satan cannot harm our souls or take away our eternal life with God.
There are many reasons to be afraid here on earth because this is the devil's domain (1 PETER 5:8). But if you choose to follow Jesus, He will give you everlasting safety through the conflicts, trials, and challenges we face.
He is faithful to provide our every need and to lead us safely through the testings as we live for Him all the way into our eternal future.
We believers can stand upon His promises that whatever our situation, Jesus is in control. He goes before us to makes a way, and simultaneously goes through it with us to the victory (DEUTERONOMY 31:8).
For, ”The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.“
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Therefore, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:31-39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
JOHN 10:30 is one of the shortest verses, yet it is the most clearest statement of Jesus divinity He ever made.
Jesus and His Father are one in essence and nature, He is fully man and fully God (the revelation of God in human form PHILIPPIANS 2:6); They are one!
Thus, Jesus experienced all the trials, challenges, and temptations that we face today, but unlike us, He never caved into temptation even when He faced the pain of the cross; He never backed down from the pain He chose that paid for our freedoms today and our eternal future, furthermore, He never committed even one sin.
He is holy, but He can most certainly relate to the troubles in our lives today. His love for His people far outweighs the pain He suffered for us. ”For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”“
‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭21‬ NKJV
Jesus is not just a good teacher, He is God. His claim to be God was unmistakable.
The religious leaders wanted to kill Him because they said that anyone claiming to be God should die.
Nothing could persuade them that Jesus' claim was true. And just as the scriptures say, Jesus Christ our Saviour died on the cross to make us right with God (2 CORINTHIANS 5:21).
My brethren, “Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:6-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Jesus died a criminal’s death on a cross; not for His sins, for He committed none; but for your sins and mine, that we may have life, and that we may have it more abundantly (JOHN 10:10) and eternally.
If you haven’t already, give your life to Christ today, and receive the gift of life that Jesus has made available to all, for tomorrow may be too late.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
