V
To delight in someone means to experience great joy in his or her presence. This can only happen when we know that person really well.
David calls us to take delight in the Lord, thus, we must get to know Him better by regular study of God’s Word and regular prayer time.
The only real way to know someone well is through relationship, which develops by spending quality time with them.
Make time to know Jesus; build a relationship with Him, after all He is the Judge that shall decide your eternal future.
As we take in knowledge of God’s selfless unconditional love, His mercy and faithfulness toward each and every one of us, His great love will indeed give us delight.
To commit ourselves to the Lord, means entrusting Him with absolutely everything in our lives: Our relationships, families, careers, possessions, our plans, and finances to His control and guidance, believing that He can care for us better than we can care for ourselves, believing that “God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them (ROMANS 8:28).
I encourage you, whatever situation you are facing right now, however extreme, or disastrous it may seems, whether it’s health, wealth, relationships, children, sin, or accusations, whatever it is, God loves you, He knows exactly what to do, and with Him, your humanly impossible situations, becomes possible (MATHEW 19:26; LUKE 18:27).
You may be in the most stormy of waters, but by giving it to God, He will make a dry path for you (see ISAIAH 43:16).
Meanwhile remain focused on Christ, and like Peter you shall walk upon the stormy seas that you are facing; but should you become overwhelmed by the noise of the storm, you can be confident that Jesus is with you and will take your hand and lead you back to safety and calm the storm (MATHEW 14:22-33).
Therefore my brethren, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV
However my beloved, Jesus did not die so that you or I can continue to live in sin. “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
Galatians 5:19-21 NKJV
Therefore, “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears.”
Hebrews 12:14-17 NKJV
Don’t be like Esau who couldn’t find repentance even though he sought it with tears. But rather, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.”
Psalms 37:3-4 NKJV
God is faithful to lead all who are truly willing; those who turn from sin toward God on a path of righteousness, “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”
Philippians 2:13 NLT
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
