God's work for us started even before Christ died on a cross to pay for our sin; it started as He spoke out His creation.
His work within us starts from the very moment we first believe and continues throughout our lifetime. It will be completed when we meet Him face to face.
God sends us Spirit filled believers the help we need to stand firm in our walk with God.
Jesus said, ““If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
John 14:15-18 NKJV
God’s Holy Spirit shall be with us from the beginning of commitment, and then live in us, teaching and leading us In the direction He wants us to walk, not only giving us the desire to do what pleases Him, but empowering us to do it (PHILIPPIANS 2:13).
Furthermore, God has given us His Word which also has it’s way in our lives; “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12 NKJV
God has sent every help we need to change our lives and live in freedom, but we must cooperate with Him through relationship and obedience to the Spirit in us, respectfully listening to Him in prayer, and by regularly taking in and digesting His word and asking for revelation of it, for “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ””
Matthew 4:4 NKJV
Paul is describing the process of Christian growth and maturity that began when we accepted and committed to Christ Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, and continues until Christ Jesus returns.
When God starts a project, He finishes it. As with the Philippians, God will help you grow in grace until He has completed His work in your life.
My beloved, when you are feeling discouraged, struggling with aparticular sin, addiction, troubles and challenges, remember that God won't give up on you; He started his good work within you, and true to His promise, He will finish it.
His promises are never ending and He is faithful to add all provisions to those who seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness (MATHEW 6:33).
He is the Lamb that overcame all things, the King of kings and Lord of Lords (REVELATION 17:14); He is our creator God (JOHN 1:1-5), our sustainer God (COLOSSIANS 1:17), and He is wonderful, councillor, Might God, everlasting Father, and prince of peace (ISAIAH 9:6).
“”I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”“
Revelation 1:8 NKJV
He said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”“
Revelation 22:13 NKJV
Furthermore, He is the corner stone on which we stand (ISAIAH 28:16).
But if we desire Gods blessed changes in our life, we must cooperate with Him.
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:1-2 NKJV
When you feel incomplete, unfinished, or distressed by your shortcomings, remember God's promises every provision.
Don't allow your present condition to rob you of the joy and peace of knowing Christ, or hinder you from growing closer to Him. But rather press in, make a point of taking in His word daily, making time for prayer and worship; praising Him who loves you so much that He sent His only begotten Son to take your place on a cross.
“He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.“
Isaiah 53:3-5 NKJV
My beloved, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.“
Romans 8:31-39 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
