It Is In Christ That We Have life Everlasting

JOHN 1-3-5
“All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
”‭‭John‬ ‭1:3-5‬ ‭NKJV‬

These verses are an absolute confirmation that Jesus is Lord, He always has been, still is, and will be forever our God.
Mankind has come along way, humans can do many things, but they do it with the materials that God created and the knowledge that He gave us. But the truth is, God created all things, and He did it from scratch-from nothing;
“By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭33:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
From nothing the heavens were made.
Therefore my beloved, we must recognise that we can do nothing without God. He is the creator of the materials, the knowledge, and the abilities; we can do nothing without God, and wouldn’t we even exist without Him.
Since we are created beings, we have no basis for pride, in fact we need to take on board the fact that God not only created us and the world we live in, but He sustain’s His creation too.
Without God there is no future; He is the ultimate judge and our eternal future is in His hands.
Furthermore, nothing can be hidden from God, like the headlights on cars light up the road and exposes everything on it, His truth exposes all things both good and evil and both the seen and the unseen.
When one adds cold water to a hot bath, it cools down, and likewise, when one adds hot water to a cool bath, it heats up. But when it comes to light and dark, It does not matter how much darkness falls, the light shall always shine through the darkness; in fact, the more darkness, the more the light can be seen; the darkness can not overcome it nor comprehend it.
God sees everything, and nothing can be hidden from Him. Christ is the creator of life, He is God in human form (PHILIPPIANS 2:5-8), and His life brings light to humankind. In His light, we see ourselves as we really are, sinners! “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”
‭‭I John‬ ‭1:8-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
When we commit our lives to Christ, the true light, we no longer walk blindly into the traps that the devil placed on our path to ensnare us with his lies, false doctrines, and temptations, such as sexual immorality, drunkenness, addiction and all kinds of sin, but instead we can follow God’s leading and live according to His will.
It was Jesus Christ who paid our debt of sin on a cross and took away the wages of sin; it was He who defeated death when He was resurrected; therefore it is in Him that we have life, our eternal future with God.
Jesus removed the darkness of sin from our lives by paying our debt of sin with His own blood; He is the Lamb that was slain.
Jesus said, ““If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:15-18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
God not only sent His only begotten Son to pay our debt of sin (JOHN 3:16), He sends His Holy Spirit to help us all the way, and by our obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit in us, we shall be seen by others as different by the fruits we produce and God’s kingdom shall grow.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:22-23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
It is the fruits of the Spirit others see in His obedient people that glorify our Father in heaven; they shine for Christ and attract non-believers to the faith.
But however, we believers have a choice; to walk in the Spirit or to walk in the flesh. “Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:19-21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My brethren, we cannot continue to live in sin. Jesus gave up His life to overcome the wages of sin and the consequences of it. We must put to death our sinful past before we can consider ourselves born again into God’s family. Only then is the old sinful self gone and the new is here in Christ Jesus.
“For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:5-14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
