I Am The Resurrection And The Life

JOHN 11:25-26
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
”‭‭John‬ ‭11:25-26‬ ‭NKJV‬

Jesus is God in human form (PHILIPPIANS 2:5-8), and all authority in heaven and on earth was given to Him (MATHEW 28:18).
He is the only One with the authority to forgive our sins. Furthermore, not only does He have the authority, He has total power over life and death. This is because He is the creator of life, and He who created life had authority over it, and it makes sense that He can restore it.
“Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My brethren, we are all sinners in need of a Saviour and their is no other, not in the heavens or on earth who can save us from eternal death. Only Jesus the coming judge can do that.
No one can buy or purchase or earn salvation; no amount of money or service, or good deeds can open the doors to heaven; in fact, Jesus said, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
The disciples were astonished; they ask, how can anyone be saved (v26)?
“But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
This refers to every aspect of life, one’s eternal future and the impossible situation one may be facing today; one’s health, wealth, and eternal future because He paid our debt in full with His own blood.
“He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
We can believe because of the witness account of the disciples who walked with Jesus and saw for themselves what He did and who He was. Furthermore, they stood by their testimony to the point of horrific death. Who would do that for a lie?
Paul tells us in the Holy Scriptures, “Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time. Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭1‬-‭8‬, ‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Jesus death and resurrection cannot be disputed, for His death and resurrection was witnessed by over five hundred people.
By His blood yours and my debt is paid in full.
“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭4‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
There is no excuse for sin however great or small, and therefore, surely we cannot continue in it. But we are all guilty and need forgiveness.
We cannot walk in our own righteousness because we have already sinned, but we can walk in Christ’ righteousness, and with the help of the indwelling holy Spirit (JOHN 14:15-18), we can turn from all sin and become obedient to Him.
So therefore if we cannot continue to live in sin, we must turn from it, and by the grace of God, resurrection life is available to all who openly turn to God in repentance.
“But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:8-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My brethren it is belief that opens the doors to heaven. “By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
It is belief that leads to answered prayers (JOHN 14:12-14); it is belief that brings salvation and deliverance from the clutches of the devil (JEOL 2:32).
It is the devil who brings about destruction, sorrow, and pain; it is he who brings poverty, sickness, and even death.
Jesus said, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
‭‭John‬ ‭10:9-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
It is by faith alone that you shall have life and have it more abundantly.
But you cannot truly believe in Christ without knowing Him, and you cannot know Him without conversation with Him.
Therefore make time to speak to Him in private and develop relationship with Him; furthermore, learn about Him by taking in His Word, asking Him for understanding.
Jesus is the coming judge who will decide your eternal future, surely it makes sense to make every effort to know Him well.
God’s word is near you, but for it to be in your mouth and your heart, you have to take it in and digest it. Jesus said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Do not be complacent; make sure you are right with God. Get close to Him; take in your daily bread and spend quality time with God in prayer.
Jesus asked Martha do you believe? “She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.””
‭‭John‬ ‭11:27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Today, Jesus is asking you the same question, do you really believe?
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
