Who Then Can Be Saved?

The wages of sin is death, so the problem is that we have all sinned and the punishment appears imminent.
Theirs not one person except Christ who can truly claim that he never sinned (1 JOHN 1:8-10).
But there is hope! Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:23-26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
When one goes past a speed camera to fast he knows he has been caught and the penalty notice is on its way. Far more than those speed cameras God sees your every sin including your sinful thoughts and the punishment is on its way.
But if someone else pays the speeding fine on your behalf, it is finished, and you are free from that penalty.
It’s one thing for a friend to pay a financial penalty on your behalf, but God sent His only begotten Son to pay the penalty notice of your sin with His own blood and it is technically finished (JOHN 19:30). All you need do is believe on Jesus Christ and His promised gift, and make Him your Master to receive this wonderful new life in Christ.
No other religious organisation deals with the problem of sin; only Jesus can do that because He is the Lamb that was slain to pay the debt of all sin, He is the One who has all authority over heaven and earth (MATHEW 28:18), and He is the coming judge who shall decide your eternal future (MATHEW 25:31-46).
It is His spilled blood that justifies one’s new life in Christ and nothing else can. That is why Jesus said, ”I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.“
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ NKJV
You are free to choose between two masters, but you will face the consequences of your choice.
The two masters pay with their own kind of currency. The currency of sin is eternal death. That is the most you can hope for without Jesus.
Christ's currency is eternal life, new life with God; “He will live among His people; He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and their will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever”(REVELATIONS 21:3-4).
Again I tell you, that's a gift well worth having.
My beloved, eternal life is a free gift from God.
We have lived with sin and the consequences of it, sorrow, pain, and death, it's a part of every day life in this dark world today, so it's difficult to imagine what life will be without sin, exactly how amazingly wonderful life will be. But God never breaks His promises, and the gift of eternal life is yours, all you have to do is believe and receive.
It’s not a complicated process and it is available to all people. ”But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”“
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭8‬-‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Your new life in Christ begins here on earth in the very moment you commit your life to Jesus, and continues forever with Him through all eternity.
But if eternal life is a gift, then it's not something we earn or can pay for.
Consider the foolishness of someone who receives a gift out of love and then offers to pay for it, that would be an insult to the giver.
A gift cannot be purchased by the recipient. A more appropriate response to a loved one who offers a gift is to gracefully accept with gratitude.
Our salvation is a gift from God, not something of our own doing (EPHESIANS 2:8-9).
God's offer to save us is because of His love and mercy, not because of any good deeds that we may have done or might do (TITUS 3:5), His grace is enough.
The gift and justification of life came at a very high price (1 CORINTHIANS 6:20), therefore, how much more should we accept with thanksgiving the wonderful gift that God has given to us.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
