We all become burdened at one time or another. But God wants us to give them burdens to Him.
Despite the fact we believers say we are trusting in God, the truth is, many of us try to carry our burdens ourselves, and that weight, unless given to God will become heavier and heavier until you break. The tiniest little thing will push you over the edge like the straw that broke the camels back.
The time to give a project, a worry, or trouble to God is at the beginning, in the planning stage, not when you have struggled for days and have run out of ideas of how to continue. The truth is, that idea may not be of God at all.
Make time to start your day in prayer, and commit your whole day to the Lord. Tell Him of your needs, plans, concerns, and worries at the start of the day, and involve Him in everything you do.
“Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Matthew 16:24-26 NKJV
To deny one’s self is to let go of the worldly cravings and donate our time, money, and energy to God; to regularly fast and pray, rather than over indulge. Fasting is the only gift we can give to God that’s not from Him already. Fasting not only disciplines the flesh, but takes us closer to God and brings about positive change in our life circumstance. Fasting breaks strong holds of the devil, brings about freedom, and detoxifies our bodies.
We humans believe it’s our right to have money in the bank, a nice house and lifestyle; but the truth is, we have no rights at all. Life itself is a gift from God, therefore, “Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.”
James 1:16-18 NKJV
My beloved, Paul gave us good advice, saying, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
I Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV
Many say, “I don’t have time to pray in the morning, I’m too pushed to get the children ready for school,’ or ‘I will be late for work,” but the truth is, prayer should be your number one priority; nothing should be more important than time with Jesus.
Maybe if your struggling in the morning, it’s because your trying to do everything in your own strength or go your own direction.
We believers must fit our lives around God, not expect Him to fit in to suit our plans.
Paul gave us some great advice. He said, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:4-7 NKJV
Notice Paul said “request”, it’s by God’s grace that you receive anything.
But Jesus has made us all a wonderful promise, saying, ““Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Matthew 6:31-34 NKJV
Again, I tell you, ““Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
