JOSHUA 1:6-9
“Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

The success of a mission in the service of the Lord is dependent upon courage, faith which is the opposite of fear, meditation, and obedience. Obedience to walk in the Spirit (GALATIANS 5:16-26) and the Word.
By learning God’s Word and meditating on it, and keeping God’s Words in our hearts, we mould our character and guide our footsteps.
God’s Word is living and powerful and actively works in all who take it in ; it is medication for one’s soul, but like any food or medicine, it only works when you taken it in and digest it.
Like sheep, we must chew the cud. Keep chewing over what we take in, to add to knowledge, understanding, and revelation and allow it to actively work within. ”For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.“
Hebrews 4:12 NKJV
Many believe that prosperity and success come from having power, influential contacts, and a relentless desire to succeed. But the strategy that God taught Joshua goes against any such criteria.
God told Joshua, to succeed you must be; “strong and courageous,” and because the task ahead would be difficult, he must “obey God’s law,” making time to regularly read and study the “book of instruction,” the Holy Bible.
Jesus said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ””
Matthew 4:4 NKJV
We all want to be wealthy and successful. And these feelings are particularly strong when starting a new project as Joshua was.
From the start of Joshua’s leadership of Israel, God laid out for Joshua His key to success; meditating on God’s Word, rehearsing it over and over in thought in order to understand its implications for the situations of life.
The meditation process changes the way we think because God’s thoughts literally become our thoughts, He gives us the desire to do His will rather than ours, and empowers us to do it.
As we live in sync with God’s plan for our lives, it follows that we will be successful and prosperous; For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him (PHILIPPIANS 2:13).
Just like Joshua you can be successful in your career, your marriage, your ministry, and indeed everything you do, by simply following the instructions God gave to Joshua and walking in the Spirit.
My brethren, make time to take in Our Daily Bread, chew it over, and digest it and allow it to actively work from within.
Be courageous without fear, obey God’s law, and constantly read, study, and meditate on God’s Word. It is key to your victories, successes, and your eternal future.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
