LUKE 6:37-38
“”Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

V
Judge not, and you shall not be judged;“Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?”
Romans 2:1-3 NKJV
Unlike God who knows all things (1JOHN 3:20), we do not know all truth and cannot know a person’s heart. Therefore, we are not qualified nor authorised to condemn anyone. But God who is all knowing, knows every heart, every circumstance, and is above all things. He alone is God and qualified to judge all things.
The truth is, we are all sinners deserving God’s judgment and all need His forgiveness; so who are we to condemn anyone.
Having said that, we believers must at times make judgments, and at times bring loving discipline. For ”When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. “Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand. Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; also you will have delivered your soul.”“
Ezekiel 3:18-21 NKJV
It is this simple, treat others how you expect to be treated, receive discipline as you expect others to receive discipline, knowing that the Lord disciplines all those who He loves( HEBREWS 12:6-14).
Forgive and God will forgive you, but If you fail to forgive, He will not forgive you (MATHEW 6:14-15). Furthermore, he who fails to forgive is seeking revenge and therefore hating that person. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him(1 JOHN 3:15).
We are all guilty of the same things, even murder when we fail to forgive or involve in gossip or condemnation. We all need God’s grace that is applied to our lives when we repent. That is to turn from such things.
God’s justice is perfect; this illustration of measure comes from the market place where grain was poured out, shaken down, and then filled to overflowing so that the purchaser was certain to receive the full amount purchased. Such is the measure we will all receive in all things both good and evil for their is consequences for our every action.
God will forgive your sins, just as you forgive those who sinned against you; God will condemn you, just as you condemn others. God will give to you, just as you give to others; His generosity toward you is measured by your generosity toward others. We shall all receive our just rewards both good and evil in good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use it, it will be measured back to you.
This illustration is not a promise of worldly blessings; indeed, the Holy Spirit is grieved by ministers who preach “double blessings” or promises of prosperity that they have no authority to make from the pulpit trying to please people and raise funds.
We are not called to please people, but rather to love them; we are called to please God.
I understand the church needs funding and lots of it, but whether for your church or as an individual, their is no reason to over reach when preaching about tithes and offerings or indeed in any circumstance. Their is no excuse for using Gods Word for personal gain.
Using God’s word to manipulate people into giving more than they can afford can cause naive believers to fall into poverty and even damage their faith when the promised returns don’t materialise.
God promise is to provide more than our needs, but not necessarily our wants; therefore, put your trust in Him alone.
When God gives us a mission, He will fund it. Whether for a godly project or personal needs. But He won’t give us more than we handle.
“Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Matthew 6:30-34 NKJV
The message is simple, we believers need not ask for provision, but rather, seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness, and all will be added to you.
My beloved, God has the whole world in His hands and you can rest assured knowing that He sees all things however big or small; He has your needs covered and blessings are piling up for you in heaven.
These are not the temporary blessings of this world, they are eternal blessings.
Therefore, ““Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
