Blessed Are Those Who Hunger And Thirst For Righteousness, For They Shall Be Satisfied

How Do I Qualify To Enter God's Kingdom?

MATHEW 5:3-12

“”Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:3-12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In hearing Jesus’ announcement that the Kingdom of heaven is at hand (4:17), people naturally ask, “how does one enter into God’s Kingdom; what must I do to qualify?

But unlike worldly kingdoms, wealth, power, and authority are unimportant and have no eternal value; for “As he came from his mother’s womb, naked shall he return, To go as he came; And he shall take nothing from his labor Which he may carry away in his hand. And this also is a severe evil— Just exactly as he came, so shall he go. And what profit has he who has labored for the wind?”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

My beloved, no one buy or purchase one’s way into God’s kingdom; no amount of money can do that.

One cannot earn his way in either; nor shall one’s status here on earth have any value in God’s kingdom.

It’s all about knowing Jesus, for He said,  “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

There is no other way, only Jesus can save you. Salvation is a gift from God for all who believe, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus said, ““Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:11-12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God uses persecution for our good. It takes our focus off earthly rewards, strengthens our faith as we successfully endure, and our attitude through it all can serve as an example to others.

It is very comforting to know that God’s people in the past faced the same kind of persecution in their day, for just as the devil is coming against you, he attacked God’s people back then.

I encourage you, whatever persecution you face, whatever troubles come your way, God loves you and wants to help you. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Nothing is impossible for God (LUKE 18:27; MATHEW 19:26), not even those impossible things that you are facing right now. “And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.””

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:8‬ ‭

Furthermore, Jesus told us Himself, whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you (JOHN 16:23).

He is our provider, our protector, our healer, and our redeemer, our leader, teacher and our guide.

Jesus said, ““If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭15‬-‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We are not alone to go through the struggles of life, Jesus is with us through it all.

He said, I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.”

‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭12‬-‭15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The truth is, the Kingdom of heaven is yours who believe, and since the things of this world are temporary, we walk knowing that the best is yet to come.

My beloved, one’s life in Christ starts in the very moment of commitment, and with all or nothing, brings peace where there was no peace. That is not the peace of the world, but God’s peace (JOHN 14:27) that surpasses all understanding and guards our hearts and minds through Christ (PHILIPPIANS 4:7).

Furthermore, we shall receive the joy of the Lord in the chaos of this world which is our strength (NEHEMIAH 8:10), and satisfies our very soul.

He makes a way where’s there’s no way (ISAIAH 43:16-19), and is the firm foundation on which we stand.

For “He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.”

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭32‬:‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I tell you the truth, “Blessed is he who hungers and thirst for righteousness, for he shall be satisfied.”

Therefore, seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all shall be added to you (MATHEW 6:33). Not some, but all shall be added to you.

My brethren, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:31-39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
